WENDY Releases NEW Masterpiece With Her Song Cover of 'Girls' By Jung Joon Il

Today, April 9th of year 2022, Wendy releases a new OST for the new reality show called Seoul Check-In which shows the adventures/travels of a top star Lee Hyori around Seoul. 

When it was announced yesterday that WENDY will release a song cover of Jung Joon Il's Girls, I searched the song immediately and listened to it all day long. LOL I instantly liked it a lot. I was already imagining Wendy's voice singing it and I was just so super excited yesterday while working because of it! I find the song really motivating from the vibe it's releasing as well as the girl empowering lyrics it contained. 

Red Velvet's WENDY Tested Positive For COVID-19

Red Velvet's Wendy got tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday! Oh gosh! I really hate COVID, when will this pandemic end really? To be honest, I got COVID previously this year too.. I think it was around January this year. The feeling is really awful and kind of sad especially the quarantine period. I was at a dormitory with a few people sharing it with me, so it's really difficult to avoid COVID in my situation because no matter how much I try to be careful, I just cannot control my roommates for that. Also, the quarantine facility that our company provided was really not enough to cater all those who got COVID at that time. Since all employees just came back from Christmas vacation, there was a surge of COVID cases after but our company was not able to foresee that or maybe they just don't care at all. So when I got COVID and everyone else, our room which we all sleep in became a quarantine facility too. Meaning, there's really no isolation that happened. Well there is isolation in terms of food... gosh since we're in the same room in our dorm, other rooms doesn't have COVID so we of course were prohibited to go outside. We cannot access food at all. No fresh air since our room is situated inside a warehouse. imagine  that! SIgh. It's really one the worst days of my life. Imagine, being sick with something that everybody is scared of and being stuck with this difficult situation like mine during quarantine.... ugh... it's just awful! I was just scared to lose my job in this pandemic so I got really no choice but to live with it and just hope for the best in that worst situation.

Up until now that the free concert is finished, I still cannot move on from the fact that Wendy slayed everybody on this concert. Seriously, this girl is just so super talented she deserves all the attention that she's having now. I mean, lately, she's given with so much exposure on singing which we all know SM had not done for so many years since her debut, which is why the amount of her exposure lately makes each of it so precious and impactful. And her performances on this concert just added more fire to every witnesses' hearts for hearing and watching her God given voice and visuals respectively. lol She been trending no. 1 right after she did her Like Water stage on Melon Realtime Search and on twitter too! God, she's amazing, isn't she? And now with all these attention, I'm just so happy because finally! Like... finally, people are giving her the attention that she's supposed to be possessing ever since.

It's been a while since I wrote something about Wendy and I think it's about time that I return to talk something about her. So just yesterday, around 6pm KST, the collaboration song of Wendy and The Black Skirts got out! As usual I am so thrilled and excited whenever there's something new from Wendy so when I finally listened to it, I'm totally mesmerized by it. Gosh, is there anyone as good as her? She can do any genre, and have you ever heard her previous release with Son Tae Jin called 'Be Deep'? She can do anything, like... anything! It's proven that she can do also musicals, 'coz she's born to be a PRINCESS! Yay! Haha...

August 1, Red Velvet members gathered together to commemorate their 7th debut anniversary and streamed through V LIVE.

While looking back to the activities done in the last 7 years, the topic about Psycho being released in 2019 was discussed. Following its release, Wendy got into an accident during her rehearsal for SBS Gayo Daejun. Due to the dangerous set, Wendy accidentally fell from the stage. She got severely injured in the accident receiving fractures on her right pelvis and wrist, and spent several months hospitalized because of it.

On April 30, not only we received good news about Spotify picking Wendy as South Korea's representative for EQUAL campaign, Wendy's Like Water music video also reached 1 million likes on YouTube in just 25 days. Like Water was released April 5 and by the end of April with 10 million views, it already achieved 1 million likes. This made Wendy as the fastest SM female soloist to achieve this milestone! 

WENDY Became The First Chosen Artist To Represent South Korea For Spotify's EQUAL Campaign

On April 30, Spotify launches EQUAL Global Music Program as part of EQUAL hub, a project that is committed to fostering equity for women in music globally. 

EQUAL campaign is about acknowledging women's representation and contribution in the music industry and their goal is to amplify the work of women creators by extending their resources and generating more opportunities for them. With that, they choose women to represent various countries every month and collect all their songs into one playlist on Spotify to connect with every listeners across the globe.

WENDY is the first artist chosen by Spotify to represent South Korea in this campaign. They acknowledge her talent and the impact she brings to the listeners. Spotify described her with the following words:

4 as the highest rating given to an artist's album so far this year 2021 (not sure if from their entire history) so Wendy receiving 3.5 stars for a solo debut album is indeed a huge achievement for her as an artist. IU is currently the one who holds the highest rating of 4 with her recent released album called LILAC. No, I didn't forget about Wendy releasing her debut album yesterday (April 5, 2021), in fact, I've been waiting ever since SM announced about her solo debut. I really woke up so early yesterday morning to get ready for work as well to ready myself emotionally with this huge WENDY day ahead of me. I've never been so excited in my life recently than anticipating Wendy's solo album. I've pre-ordered early, I spread the word about her, I listened to her music even before her solo. Like, I know most of you already know that I'm a HUGE Wendy fan ever since I've become a Reveluv. She's my total bias and this solo debut and just entirely her comeback to music scene, releasing amazing music, is making me feel so emotional really. I just love Wendy so much and now, with her newest music, I think I've admired her even way higher than before. I see her like my hero now. I don't mean to sound exaggerated with my description of how she means to me but that's just how I feel! I just love Wendy so much.

WENDY Of Red Velvet Closes Mysterious Record Shop With A Cover Of Oh Hyuk's Song Called 'Girl'

The last episode of Mysterious Record Shop aired March 26 and it was Wendy who got to sing on that finale. Mysterious Record Shop only has 10 episodes which was hosted by talented singers/artists such as Yoon Jong Shin, Jang Yoon Jeong, Super Junior's Kyuhyun and Red Velvet's Wendy. For the entire series, Wendy got to sing 4 times, Kyuhyun 3 times, Jang Yoon Jeon twice and Yoon Jong Shin only once. The guests got to pick which song recommendation from the hosts they would prefer to listen to while on the show. Wendy being the guests' favorite most of the time on the show just meant how beautiful her music taste were which suited 4 times to different guests' music tastes!

WENDY Will Finally Debut As A Solo Artist This April!

This news came out in the afternoon of March 10 and a day already passed now and it still feels surreal! Are we alright there fellow Wendyluvs? I know I'm not the only one who still can't believe that WOLO is soon to launch this April! We've come a long way, we've waited for so long and what happened year 2019 almost broke us all that madethe waiting even more unbearable, but now I can finally say that 'those were the days'. Because now we're really having it! Wendy has healed and came back to us with good news, a reward for all of us who waited for her.

Wendy Is Well Loved + Got To Sing In 3 Consecutive Episodes Of Mysterious Record Shop

This is already Wendy's 3rd time that the guests of Mysterious Record Shop picked her song recommendation. Our Wendy surely has a great taste in music and is well loved. Jang Yoon Jeong  happily brought up a fact, in episode 7, that all of their guests with daughters that came on the show love Wendy. It's pretty much understandable considering how beautiful of a person Wendy really is.

Once again, Wendy proved how strong she is with her vocals from her recent song cover performance on JTBC's Mysterious Record Shop's 6th episode. She did a splendid job in sending across the message of the song Pray to everyone listening that's having a hard time. We are all glad and thankful that all the guests on the show chose our Wendy's song recommendation, we are now healed.
