WENDY Became One Of The Only 4 Korean Female Soloists To Achieve More Than 100K Album Sales In The First Week

I've been so affected by Wendy's comeback in the music scene that's why I'm so not active lately when it comes to other Korean updates and stuff but after a week, I guess I'm a bit okay now and have adjusted to it. lol I'm not saying Wendy's not making me feel okay but I'm just so emotional that my heart couldn't take it whenever she's having a schedule lately. It feels like my mind and my world is only for Wendy. lol I wish that's the only case for my whole life but then again I'm just a mere person who needs to live her own life too. Ah.. I just love Wendy so much, she's my role model. My hero, Wendy. 

Anyways, I'm here to just record Wendy's latest achievement from her solo album. Despite SM sabotaging her solo debut, delayed shipping of album due to insufficient stock, Wendy's Like Water album managed to sell 116,696 copies in its first week!! She's now the 2nd SM female soloist to achieve 100k+ sales in the first week on Hanteo next to Taeyeon's Purpose album with 132,818 copies sold.

Wendy joined Rose, IU and Taeyeon as the only female solo artists to have 100k+ album sales in the first week! She's currently 4th in the ranking of all time and 3rd in year 2021 so far. 

ALL TIME RECORDED SALES IN THE FIRST WEEK (Korean Female Soloist)

1. Rose - "R" - 448,089 copies

2. IU/Lee Ji Eun - "LILAC" - 278,414 copies

3. IU/Lee Ji Eun - "Love Poem" - 147,856 copies

4. TAEYEON - "Purpose" - 132,818 copies

5. WENDY - "LIKE WATER" - 116,696 copies

6. TAEYEON - "What Do I call You" - 87,299 copies

2021 RECORDED SALES IN THE FIRST WEEK (Korean Female Soloist)

1. Rose - "R" - 448,089 copies

As of writing also, Wendy's Like Water became Red Velvet's 2nd album with the highest album sales next to Irene & Seulgi's Monster in the first week.

Wendy's comeback surely is powerful but it would have been beyond that if SM sent her to different music/radio shows to promote her album. Also, if they gave her fans more than 12 days of pre-order timeframe and if they didn't underestimate her capabilities to sell a huge amount of albums and stocked more than 100k+ albums in the first week, she would have ranked higher when it comes to album sales in the first week. Ugh! SM is really the worst, they just don't know how lucky they are to have a special vocalist like Wendy!!

Anyways, congratulations to our WENDY, she deserves all of her achievements and I'm looking forward to more of her in the future. Fighting, Wendy!
