5 Proofs That Irene Of Red Velvet Is A Warm Hearted Person

Let's all look back to Irene's good deeds amidst all these negative happenings recently. There are a lot of good things to talk about Irene as a person and hopefully it will help people to refresh their minds and think twice in posting malicious comments about her.

Her mistake has been acknowledged and Irene already apologized for it. Let's not make one mistake overshadow all of the good things she has done in the entertainment industry, for the people of South Korea and to her loved ones (friends, family, and fans).

So here are some proofs why Red Velvet's Irene is a warm hearted person:

1. Irene Donated 100 Million Won To The City Of Daegu

This February 2020, to help support those affected by the Corona virus outbreak, Irene generously donated an amount of 100 million won ($88,594) to the city of Daegu. It was reported then that Daegu, which is her hometown, has the largest number of cases infected by the virus in the country.

It only shows that Irene doesn't hesitate to help out or donate a huge amount of money when there are people in need in the midst of crisis.

2. Irene Takes Care Of The People Around Her And Always Expresses Gratitude Towards Them

Seulgi, being with Irene for more than a decade as of writing, stated that Irene is someone that is warmhearted. Irene is known to be someone that takes care of the people around her, remembering their birthdays and celebrate it with them, a gesture that always left everyone touched. Here are a few other instances:

During the end of Monster & Naughty promotions, Irene gifted all of their 7 dancers AirPods & cases with handwritten letters to express her gratitude working with them. It was said that Irene took time to personally buy them the gifts, the AirPods cases' designs were picked by Irene thinking about the dancers' individual personalities.
Irene has gifted her dancers way before too, with some luxury pajamas and lots of vitamins.
Doyoung of NCT revealed that Irene always takes care of their group. Irene as their senior, showed her support to NCT's first concert and comeback stage by sending them food (grilled eel)
Irene treats her Red Velvet members meals as well. The members were grateful for that they even called her the best woman of this generation because of it.
There was a time wherein Red Velvet goes to amusement park with the winner of their event, the mom mentioned how Irene took care of her daughter really well. Irene wipes the daughter's sweat with a handkerchief even off-camera. Part of the comment that was left by the mom was that her daughter wanted to ride T-express in the amusement park back then but since there were 2 members that were incapable to ride it, they weren't able to do so. But after filming the show, Irene accompanied the daughter to ride it just to grant her wish. (Source: From Recent Translation)

3. Irene Treasures Her Fans/Reveluvs/Luvies

The fact that Irene's fansites didn't shut down because of the controversy she's currently in, says a lot about her. Fansites of other members showed their support for her as well by leaving hearts and status on their accounts.

As fans that watched Irene closely, they have seen how much Irene respects and treasures everyone.

During a fan meeting, Red Velvet discovered the disappointment from the fans due to the reason that they were prohibited by the staff to take a photo of them. Irene then sided the fans and granted them to take photos.
During the group's Redmare concert in Toronto, Irene ignored the staff by allowing the fans to sing a Happy Birthday for Wendy. It was Wendy's first time to be back again in Toronto since debut, so it was a special night for her and the fans.
Irene always communicates with her fans and console them during their hard times. Irene, using their official app LYSN and Instagram, always updates her waiting fans.
Luvies trust and hold on to her words that they will come back as 5 members, because we all believe in our leader/noona/unnie.

4. Irene Is Well Loved By Her Members in Red Velvet

Irene is known as Red Velvet's leader but she takes care of them like her own family and is evident throughout their career since debut. Irene confessed during I&S Level Up Project press con, that she considers them as part of her family/as her little sisters and with that, members felt her love and care that's why they return this kind gesture and look up to her. The members always have nothing but love for their unnie and always have good things to say about her.

Seulgi

I learned so much from Joohyun unnie. She went through all that before us. I really felt that (talking about how she have matured). I didn't know before, but Joohyun unnie must have been able to see through what I was experiencing. I felt like listening to unnie knocked some sense into me. Almost like a slap.
During the I&S Level Up Project press con, Seulgi stated that Irene is like a real sister to her.

Wendy

When she's struggling, Irene would come over to her and give her advises from her personal experience, saying 'This is how I overcame it'. She talks to her about life in a different way her member does. Like what she needs to improve on or develop for the future.
Wendy nicknamed her as 'The Best Woman of This Generation', for treating them with a huge meal and the title has been used since then.
She's a big sister that always quietly providing the members tremendous support. She knows every member better than anybody else. Always be there to protect and support the members. She's that kind of leader.

Joy

Joy dislikes controlling leaders, but Irene always tell them what is wrong quietly and listens to their opinion. She also said that Irene keeps the peace of their group.
Joy says that the members always tell about their concerns but Irene didn't. And when they ask her 'Do you have anything to say?' Irene will always say No. This statement supports what Irene once said that she didn't want to cry in front of her members.

Yeri

Yeri mentioned even when they were trainees Irene was extremely generous. She mentioned Irene would get up early to cook her meal for breakfast and would iron her school clothes for her too.
Irene is my sis.

5. Lots Of People Continuously Support Her Amidst This Controversy

When Irene took responsibility of her actions and apologized both privately and publicly to the stylist/editor (October 22), the people who she worked with for a long period of time showed their support by posting on social media their experiences working with Irene. Contrary to the netizens and reporters' continuous negative accusations of her character and to the editor/stylist who published and started this controversy, these people (Red Velvet's makeup and stylist since debut, Red Velvet's dancers, Irene's coworker in Double Patty, Clinique photoshoots, Damiani CFS and A LOT more) stated the great and positive sides of Irene. They have stated all good traits that they have witnessed working with her and didn't forget to express their gratitude towards her as well.

There's a saying that a person's attitude is always based on how he or she is treated, I don't say that what Irene did was correct and should be tolerated but, in this controversy, this saying weighs a lot and should be considered especially now that we're having a lot of legit people, who worked with her for a long time, expressing their heart warming story working with her.

All of these shall pass and one day we will have better days with Irene and the whole Red Velvet as 5 members. Let's promise to live better and be by her side till the end!
