Haven't talked in a while about MBTI (Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator) but if you'd like to know more about it in a more detailed way then you can head over to my other website called Quaint Path. But since Wendy is my bias and as an MBTI enthusiast, I will decode ISFP here for me to understand her way of perceiving and judging the world. I really do think that knowing one's MBTI is a window for me to get to know someone on a deeper level. Just them sharing this information feels like very intimate for me, even though to some people it's just some 4 letters and stuff. I do think it's really important.
Disclaimer: MBTI does not tell us anything about one's personality or behavior rather it tells us about how someone act based on how they think, how they perceive the world and judge it. Hmm.. Was I clear about that? Anyways, if you don't get it, just read my other blog for more detailed information. Let me decode Wendy and Seulgi's MBTI now.
ISFP, just looking at the first and last letters we're already given so much information about this type. They are introverted and also the perceiving type. Introverted is basic knowledge so you all know that, while perceiving type is someone that is spontaneous and prone to less actions unlike the judging types.
The dominant function of an ISFP is Introverted Feeling (Fi). Since Feeling is a judging function it means Wendy and Seulgi are the types that base their decisions or thought process from their own feelings or self moral values. Fi is also INFP's dominant function, which is Joy's MBTI. Yeri was an INFP before but she updated us that it changed to ISFP. So we got 3 ISFP in Red Velvet, 1 INFP and 1 unknown. lol Looking at the 4 members, they are all the same Perceiving type and their dominant functions are the same too which is amazing 'coz this might be the reason why they are so close to each other because they understand what the other is thinking or feeling. I find this really fascinating that I'm having goosebumps. It's rare to be in the same room as those who have the same types and dominant functions so this amazes me so much. They are all just meant to be!
If I'll break down ISFP's cognitive functions, they are:
Dominant: Introverted Feeling (Fi)
Auxiliary: Extroverted Sensing (Se)
Tertiary: Introverted Intuition (Ni)
Inferior: Extroverted Thinking (Te)
When it comes to MBTI, it's really important to know the inferior function because you'll know what's basically ruining your life. lol If you want to take MBTI to your advantage, know your inferior function and do something to improve it. I am an INFP, same as Joy, and our inferior function is Extroverted Thinking (Te) which means deciding based on objective reasoning/logic or proven facts is our weakness. If not hone or improved, it feels paralyzing because INFPs tend to overthink things that are not essential in the thought process and it affects drastically their judgment when on the spot. Sometimes, it becomes a thinking loop and end up not doing any action at all. INFPs have a hard time in weighing the pros and cons of their decisions that results to a worst decision ever. This type's mind is basically all over the place in short. Haha!
Oh wait! ISFPs have the same weaknesses too! WOW! It dawned to me just now while I'm writing this blog post!! This is so funny! Now I really am so curious about Irene's MBTI! I mean, she's a leader and I wonder too if her MBTI is that type that supports these 4 members because if it is, they just all fit together. The leader and her members supporting each other. Wow, please let me know if Irene finally shared her MBTI, this is so interesting that it's giving me chills for real!
These 5 are just meant to be! Okay this is getting funnier because I'm getting excited over cognitive functions. haha! This is amazing!!
