WENDY Became The First Chosen Artist To Represent South Korea For Spotify's EQUAL Campaign

On April 30, Spotify launches EQUAL Global Music Program as part of EQUAL hub, a project that is committed to fostering equity for women in music globally. 

EQUAL campaign is about acknowledging women's representation and contribution in the music industry and their goal is to amplify the work of women creators by extending their resources and generating more opportunities for them. With that, they choose women to represent various countries every month and collect all their songs into one playlist on Spotify to connect with every listeners across the globe.

WENDY is the first artist chosen by Spotify to represent South Korea in this campaign. They acknowledge her talent and the impact she brings to the listeners. Spotify described her with the following words:

"With her recent solo EP out, Wendy proves to be a strong artist from Korea with her talent that resonates globally. As one of the K-pop's most influential artists, Wendy's voice is powerful yet healing, strong yet sophisticated. Listeners and fans will not only hear but also feel her sense of empathy, warmth and gratitude through her voice and artwork. Through EQUAL, we hope more listeners worldwide can discover Wendy and truly feel the warmth she exudes."

After a few hours of this news posted on Naver and Spotify, SM Entertainment acknowledged this campaign in Red Velvet's social media accounts and posted a photo of Wendy's ad at New York Time Square.
