Kim Soo Hyun Won "Artist of the Year" in Asia Artist Award 2024 | See Full List of Winners

The Asia Artist Award was held last night (Dec 27) at Thammasat Stadium in Bangkok. It was Kim Soo Hyun who took home the ceremony's highest award (Daesang) of Artist of the Year. He mentioned Kim Ji Won during his speech that quoted:

Put AAA in front of each awards name btw, if not put there some award names are so weird. lol One thing I don't like about Kpop and Kdrama awards are them putting awards that aren't even significant. I mean it felt like they just inserted these awards to make sure these popular artists' attendance so that the ceremony could actually make some noise because of their large fanbases. I'm not gonna mention what these 'weird' awards are but you can pinpoint as you read the list of winners. lol

Byeon Woo Seok Successfully Proposes to Kim Hye Yoon In Lovely Runner Episode 16

That ending was so good! Sol and Sun Jae revolves entirely in the past and present time but with that one kiss, after the marriage proposal, they foresee the future together. It's definitely going to be happily ever after for the both of them together. Endings like this is really satisfying, after the long run of the story which is filled with difficulties and dramas, it ends with a reward of happiness. Ain't it beautiful? Better ending than Queen of Tears tbh. hahaha! I'm so sorry for always bringing up QoT with my every post about Lovely Runner, I just couldn't help comparing the two of them. Maybe because I haven't moved on from getting scxammed of the QoT series. Yes, I felt so disappointed with the ending that it made me question whether my time was wasted or not watching it. I was so hyped for the 1-14 episodes because they were absolutely my style only to end up in such a bad written finale. Sigh... I think the last time I felt so disappointed like this in a Kdrama ending was Doctor Cha. This is why I am so happy with Lovely Runner because it has a well written ending and definitely it was all worthwhile watching the whole run of the show. It deserved the hype! Congratulations to the whole cast and production of Lovely Runner! It was an unexpected success/hit drama for them after all.

Anyways, since it'll be the last time I'll talk about the episodes of Lovely Runner here in the blog, I'm gonna appreciate Tae Sung's character here more. I've been thinking about Tae Sung's purpose in the early part of the show, I'm convinced that he won't become another Seojun (True Beauty) as a 2nd male lead because he's nowhere to be found at crucial moments of Sol at all. And there at the last part of the story, he became the hero catching Kim Young Soo who's been the main problem/root cause why Sol and Sun Jae repeat having the same unfortunate fate. But it all ended because of him, even Sun Jae's aware of it that's why he was so thankful for him despite their childish rivalry. hahahaha! Even though he became the hero, he still didn't get the girl though. hahahah! Anyways, he instantly became an unforgettable character because when you think about SolJae now, there's Tae Sung the 2nd male lead who saved both of them that's why they lived a happily ever after. The End. 

Now, would I recommend this drama?! Definitely YES! Although I've had struggles sticking with it in the early episodes of the series, it definitely was worth staying because 2nd half of the show was a blast!!! 

Byeon Woo Seok Remembered Kim Hye Yoon in Every Timeline in Lovely Runner Episode 15

Wow, this episode 15 really brought me to tears. That trip down to memory lane of Sun Jae really pulled my heartstrings, it really made me think that they've been through and sacrificed a lot for each other. The time travel and how they protect each other in their own ways were real proof of how much they love each other and it's so wonderful to watch a love story like this. This is only my opinion but this drama Lovely Runner really exceeds the story telling of true love between two people. I know there's no need to compare it to anything but I feel like there's a need to say this, Lovely Runner is better than Queen of Tears on this regard in my opinion. Story telling, although really confusing at times, Lovely Runner felt like it's telling the greatest love story of all time when you actually watch it and not think of anything else. Episode 15 connects everything from their past to the present and I love it so much. No need to get hit by a car and survive it like supernatural being on the 15th episode just to call the man the greenest flag of all/risk taker for the love of his life. lol Sun Jae exceeds that just by staying Sol's side and protects her from the very beginning till the end. Sigh... oh to have Sun Jae in one's life is just a huge blessing! I hope we can have our own version of that in our lives. 

The purpose of the 2nd lead, Tae Sung, in the story of Sol and Sun Jae became clear too. The way he became the police in charge of the taxi driver case was really on point. It's not just a mere love triangle that we're all used to witness, it's a love triangle that serves a purpose and that's to help out in chasing and catching the main problem of Sun Jae and Sol since day 1. I find it really nice how Tae Sung was the son of the previous police in charge of this case. It's like, "leave it to me, pops. I'll take it from here" kind of thing and it made Tae Sung's character even more cool to me! Waaaah!

Anyways, last episode tonight!!! I'm excited for this because upon seeing the preview for the next episode, it feels like we're definitely going to have a happy ending! WAAAAH DESEEEERRVVEEE!!! 

Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon's Fate Keeps Repeating, Will there be a Chance for A Happy Ending? | Lovely Runner Episode 14

This is so confusing, I thought that they managed to capture Kim Young Soo in the past? There were no news that he got away from the police or so, that's why I thought that Sol and Sunjae will finally have a chance at love this time around. But then again, why wouldn't Sol want to be with Sun Jae if that's the case? Then that explains why Young Soo was still out there in the present. Sigh... We're honestly going circles since the early episodes until the finale, if it weren't for the chemistry between the 2 leads, I don't think this would get hyped at all. 

Anyways, Sun Jae having the 'Hong Hae In syndrome' wherein his heart somehow recognizes Im Sol. lol He's having deja vu, dreams about his past lifetime, all these experiences were because of Sol's story about a woman who turned back time 15 years ago to save the man she loves. Yes, this is Lovely Runner, you honor. kkk 

Only 2 episodes left for this drama, if Sun Jae died in the finale, it would feel like the whole series became pointless. lol I mean, we're all made a fool for watching a woman return 4 times in the past (3 chances from her watch from Sunjae auction + Sun Jae's watch in ep 13) if Sun Jae still die in the present. The story wasn't that deep tbh, since we've been circling around with no changes at all, it just basically proved how much Sun Jae and Sol love each other. That's basically what this love story is all about and we're all hooked because of that. 

Kim Hye Yoon Was Fated to Meet Byeon Woo Seok Again in Lovely Runner Episode 13

This drama is just way too good. I love how this drama is really mixing the comedy and angst together even up to the 13-14 episode. In my previous experience with romcoms, when it comes to episodes 13-16, the story inclines more on the heavy drama because all the light and comedy scenes were overused in the early episodes. But in Lovely Runner, everything was balanced and that's why I find it really so good! This is almost like a perfect kdrama tbh, the storyline progresses so interestingly and the main leads were more than enough to get us all hooked. Their chemistry is over the roof! 

Anyways let's talk about episode 13! After all the efforts that Sol did, Sun Jae still ended up dead in the hands of Kim Young Soo. Sigh. Never ending saga, this is probably the fate of Sun Jae when there is Sol in his life. That is why, when Sun Jae's wrist watch activated the 3 chances to go back in time AGAIN, Sol decided not cross path with Sun Jae during that first meeting they had in a rain shower. We won't have a masterpiece song after this encounter anymore. Waah! 

Will they really be able to change their fate? Sol can't avoid meeting Sun Jae though and for sure Sun Jae would fall in love again with Sol and Sun Jae would end up dying again. Perhaps it's time for Sol to accept their fate? That all they need to do is cherish every moments they have together instead of thinking of the future where they'll get separated by death? 

But wait, Kim Young Soo was already imprisoned, right? Which means, Sun Jae won't die in the present time!!! Waaaah! Sol just went back in time to make Sun Jae alive again! Hmmm...

Byeon Woo Seok Finally Realizes Kim Hye Yoon's True Feelings for Him in Lovely Runner Episode 10

This drama is piercing straight to my heart since it started its flight for the 2nd half. Gosh, I really love it when there is an angst involved in the story. lol I feel like the real deal is finally happening to the show. kkk Anyways, episode 10, Sun Jae found out the real feelings of Sol for him all thanks to Tae Sung. I can't express how happy I am for this great news! I mean, finally no more going around in circles. Tbh, when Sun Jae asked about Sol coming from the future, I had expected that Sol would make up excuses again, but she didn't. She told him the truth but just didn't tell the whole story and the real reason why she was there in that time zone because she wasn't capable of it since the deity won't allow her. Thankfully, Sun Jae is a smart guy being able to pick up clues now after he heard that one drunken night where Sol sang Sun Jae's unreleased song. The breaking news in year 2023 about Sun Jae's unfortunate incident was also changed into Eclipse, with only 3 members, releasing a new album instead. That's crazy!

This episode is filled with so many laughable moments. My favorite part would be Tae Sung and Sun Jae helping out draining Sol's DVD shop from leaks upstairs. The way they flexed themselves (most especially the arms) whenever Sol's mom and grandma mentions their names individually, that was epic! lol It was a real showdown between them and everyone around them were clueless. They even had a dramatic fight scene like one of those zombie apocalypse/action movies filmed in a subway. kkk And the fact that they both ended up sleeping in the same house. Hilarious! 

But still with all laughable moments comes the heartfelt scenes. I absolutely love the ending scene, tbh. When Sol was so afraid that the taxi driver was coming her way and this fear doubled when Sun Jae appeared, everything was so intense! I can really feel the fear in Kim Hye Yoon's acting! Then when the truck driver turned out to be someone else, that intensity in her atmosphere hasn't fully subsided. It was only when Sun Jae spoke about realizing what was already happening that made her calm. I've never appreciated cupping the face and kissing scene after so much before until this one happened. It was really the most appropriate scene to use such trick! I love it! It was like an assurance from Sun Jae that everything will be okay. Waaaah! 

Byeon Woo Seok Questions Kim Hye Yoon Whether She Came From The Future In Lovely Runner Episode 9

That scene where Im Sol stressed out that she wants Sun Jae to leave her alone was so painful to watch. There's definitely a pang of pain in there for me, what more for Sun Jae though? In his mind, probably, his unrequited love was not desirable and to be pushed away like that makes all of his efforts and sleepless nights thinking about her all wasted. Wasted in a way that he won't know what to do with his overflowing love for Im Sol. In kdrama this is romantic because viewers like us know what exactly is going on between them, but if it were to happen in real life without them knowing anything that's happening then it'll all look so creepy! lol Good thing that it is a Kdrama we're watching. kkk 

Anyways, because Sol was completely drunk in that one night in their field trip, she unconsciously sang Sun Jae's song Sonaki. A song that wasn't released or publicly known yet in 2009. Of course, Sun Jae, being that crazy in love with Sol, he would believe everything that he hears and sees about Sol so it's understandable that this crazy concept of time travel would be believable to him. Now, the main question is how would Sol respond to Sun Jae about it?! Sheesh, sometimes I have my doubts with Sol. This girl is crazy as f! 

I know that Sol has been avoiding Sun Jae all this time because she's afraid that he might end up in an unfortunate death like in the future. However, she just makes everything so effin' complicated and sad for Sun Jae. It's very clear how much this guy would do everything in his power to save her from any harm (past, present, future, you name the time) so what's the point of pushing him away? If I were her, I'd just accept Sun Jae and solve the problem together. It'll be easier now that Sun Jae has an idea of where she might have come from. Sol doesn't need to speak the truth, Sun Jae would find it all out. He's that great of a man. 

So I was right, it seemed like that the taxi driver was the reason behind Sun Jae's death even in the future. It was not suicide. This taxi driver is pissed off at Im Sol because she found out about where he did his crime which is at the reservoir. The taxi driver wanted to eliminate her to prevent himself from getting caught. He then got even wilder when Sun Jae came into the picture and had him put in jail once before, that's the start why this taxi driver wanted to eliminate Sun Jae too! 

Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon Shared a Kiss In Lovely Runner Episode 8

Finally was able to catch up with this drama and guess what?! After all the prevention of Sun Jae from getting hurt, he still ended up hospitalized. Im Sol's eyes were currently away from Sun Jae for a while and this incident happened to him. What's crazy about this is that the taxi driver who got caught before because of Sun Jae's quickness in saving Im Sol, was the one who tried harming Sun Jae. Seriously, what's with that taxi driver's deal? Did he really knew Im Sol once only in his life? or was there any other encounter between them? Are maniacs like that?! Obsessing over a girl they once saw in their lives? And everyone who hinders their plans to get the girl will also automatically become their target to eliminate first?! Sheesh!

Anyways, despite the unfortunate incident that happened in the last scene of episode 8, the fact that Sun Jae is still alive gives me hope that he will survive till the very end. Anyways, the police did get a hold of the suspect, right? If not then we're screwed! I hope he'll get detained soon if not, Sun Jae and Im Sol would be in danger and the possibility of Sun Jae dying will still remain. I already had a hunch that Sun Jae didn't really end up taking his own life, he was murdered from the very start because the guy behind Sunjae's door who used the door bells that night was the exact same person as the taxi driver. 

On the bright side, Sun Jae and Im Sol are finally together now! Like, finally!!! Sun Jae had it tough, his feelings for Im Sol are worthy of being reciprocated after several rejections and heartbreaks. Sun Jae's efforts towards Im Sol were not in vain, they are now lovers! I'm so happy for him! 

Kim Hye Yoon Asks Byeon Woo Seok to Spend the Night Together In Lovely Runner Episode 12

Episode 7, they are finally back in the present time and some areas were definitely changed. Im Sol's legs are still usable while Sun Jae's still alive. However, the concert was postponed, therefore the possibility of Sun Jae dying after the concert is still valid. It made me really laugh out loud when Im Sol was desperate to stop Sun Jae from living her side at the bridge with an offer of spending the night together. HAHAHA! As usual, Sun Jae has that poker face to hide his real feelings but for sure he's already over the moon after hearing that offer! Oh goodness, Sol! You and your bold mouth can be misunderstood you know?! We have other understanding over here. kkk 

Anyways, that taxi driver surely is a maniac. He probably has an intent to do something to a lady that night at the shed but ended up hitting her before because Sol escaped. It was a coincidence that Im Sol happened to meet a maniac/criminal like that taxi driver. Lesson here is that it is true that people shouldn't stay late outside especially when you are a girl and a young one because there are a lot of bad people out there waiting for an opportunity to spot their next victim. Sheesh! Thankfully, Sun Jae was there to save Im Sol all the time!! The intent was to save Sun Jae by going back to the past but it also is about saving Im Sol too! It's both ways all along. 

The visuals are deliciously pleasing and the scenes are hilarious, this is real romcom! 

Byeon Woo Seok Got Rejected by Kim Hye Yoon in Lovely Runner Episode 6

I feel like this drama every week is making us happy on the first episode then sad on the next, like what happened this week where the comedy was hilarious in episode 5 and it made us all sad in episode 6. I really do think that episode 5 was well done making us all laugh, it's like every scene was made to do that back-to-back. I was beginning to be happy about it then it fluctuates in episode 6. Hmmm.. was it intentionally made like that?! 

Anyways, if I were Im Sol too, who's very much into 'protecting' Sun Jae, I would not accept his confession either considering that I'm not from that world! Eventually I'll come back to the future, and it'll leave Sun Jae alone and broken since my old self is madly in love with someone else. The fact that the date of her original accident slowly approaching too is like a reminder to her that she couldn't have Sun Jae too. Perhaps it's also because she didn't want Sun Jae to see her in a pitiful situation. 

Did I missed it out or it wasn't revealed yet about the reason why that 'taxi driver' was hunting down Im Sol?! What's his reason again?! Or was he just some maniac out there? Anyways, I hope Sol would be okay after she got abducted by him. Sun Jae, please save Sol!

Kim Hye Yoon Finally Heard Byeon Woo Seok's Confession in Lovely Runner Episode 5

Woooow! I got goosebumps at the ending scene wherein Sun Jae asked Im Sol "selfishly" to break up with Tae Sung and then the recording comes in with Sun Jae confessing that he likes her! Ahhhh! That was a good scene. I'm so glad that I still decided to continue this drama if not, I wouldn't be able to witness such amazing moment of Im Sol and Sun Jae. 

I know that this is how the typical "romcom" should be, that lively, funny and chaotic scenes where characters were like caricatures with their exaggerated facial reactions and voices. However, previous episodes made me cringe over it especially the 2 side characters/ side couple. When the fire hits the house of Im Sol, the brother was so stupid as fck that made me cringe at his behavior and same goes with the girl having constipation after the encounter. Like... wtf was that. So, I decided to not react about the previous episode through a blog post because I don't have the energy to do so because I didn't like it. I love Im Sol and Sun Jae though; I love how everything's progressing between them and also the budding love triangle with Tae Sung. 

After watching episode 5, I've decided to continue watching this because Sun Jae is just so adorable acting nonchalant in front of Im Sol when in fact, he's such a sap and overly in love with Im Sol! Hahaha! I can't resist watching Byeon Woo Seok doing such a character. I can't just abandon this drama just because I didn't like the side couple.

Kim Hye Yoon Left Byeon Woo Seok and Came Back to Present World In Lovely Runner Episode 3

After stressing out with Queen of Tears on the weekends, we'll get more misunderstandings with Lovely Runner Kdrama with the time traveling going on in the series! Hahaha! Great way to start our week! Im Sol continues to stay by Sunjae's side and tries to prevent all bad occurrences that happened in the present world to this 'past' where Sunjae is still alive. But it seemed like it can happen only if it does not involve Sunjae. Remember when Im Sol tried all possible ways for Sunjae not to swim in the competition? The shoulder injury went worse in his training instead. And it also became the reason why Sunjae has to retire from swimming. On the other hand, the fire escalating in their house got prevented by her. This is why I had the idea that Im Sol can change/alter fate only when it does not involve Sunjae. But I guess it's still early to be sure of it since there may come a time that the fire would still exist in the near future like what happened to Sunjae's situation. What's bound to happen will happen after all. Unless this drama is like Marry My Husband wherein Kang Ji Won made her unfortunate fate get transferred to another character. By then I can see hope how Im Sol would be able to save everyone. lol 

I already have a feeling that Sunjae and Im Sol are actually a couple in the present world. I think it's Im Sol's accident that caused her to do not remember Sunjae any longer. But the thing is, why does her mom keep this memory a secret from her? What exactly is their past?! Hmmm.. maybe to protect Im Sol from Sunjae's avid fans since he has possessive fans who wants to keep him away from relationships? 

About Im Sol's watch making her travel back to the present world, I'm not yet sure but does it have something to do with Sun Jae getting hurt? or experiencing pain caused by her? Im Sol's main goal was to save Sunjae from loneliness to prevent the future's suicide thing, and since Sun Jae witnessed Im Sol getting asked out by Tae Sung, he probably got hurt by it and may have caused Im Sol to travel back to the present. Hmmmmmm waaaaaah!

Byeon Woo Seok Knows and Actually Is In Love with Kim Hye Yoon In Lovely Runner Episode 2

Episode 2 is done and wow, I'm really captivated by Byeon Woo Seok. The female lead was exporting a  good acting too which fits really well with her character Im Sol. Im Sol popping out in Ryu Sun Jae's life and running around like a crazy ahjumma trying to stop him from joining the upcoming swimming competition because it was the competition that caused Sun Jae to quit swimming in the future. But of course, it's hard to believe someone like her who acts insanely weird. Also especially when Sun Jae hasn't really had a long interaction nor a decent talk with her before. Sure, Sun Jae really had his 'love at first sight' seeing Im Sol for the very first time and actually borrowed and x-rated VHS (lol) by accident to their shop, but other than that there's nothing else we know of yet that would make Sun Jae fully believe whatever Im Sol was blurting out from her mouth. Of course our point of view as viewers are different from Sun Jae since we see everything in a wide perspective while Sun Jae only sees his own point of view so whatever declination we see from his side are all understandable. I got you Sun Jae, I understand you! lol 

Anyways, 15 years... hahaha! Im Sol had to stick with Sun Jae for 15 years to protect him, really? If only Im Sol knew that Sun Jae's in love with him then everything would have been easy! But that's not the case! Oh well, our boy Sun Jae really is playing hard to get, huh?! The last scene in this episode gave us a glimpse on who saved Im Sol in the accident she had in the future and it's none other than Sun Jae. Hmmm.. I really am excited to know more about these two and how well do Sun Jae knew Im Sol in the past. 

I think Sun Jae really likes her deeply considering that his favorite candy was the candy that Im Sol handed to him the first time they met. Sun Jae also keeps a picture of the two of them as shown in the incident that his suicxde happened. And the fact that Sun Jae in the future approached Im Sol during that snowy night just makes more sense. To Sun Jae, Im Sol wasn't just a fan of him but a love of his life and his career is what prevented Sun Jae to go all out with his feelings for her. Ahhhhhh! How sad!

Kim Hye Yoon is Determined to Protect Byeon Woo Seok From Loneliness in Lovely Runner Episode 1

My much anticipated drama is here because, my man, Byeon Woo Seok is back again in this drama. Hopefully this time he won't die in the end. Oops, in here, he died the first episode! Lol But let's hope that Sol would be able to save his character after she travelled back to year 2008. 

Sol became Sun Jae's avid fan after a surprise call from a radio which Sun Jae's band was a guest. During the phone call, Sun Jae thanked and encourage Sol for existing even after her aggressive reaction to them. During that time, Sol was caught in an accident that made her half paralyzed. Because of not being able to feel and use her legs, she has lost hope in life and has a plan to take her own life but changed her mind because of what Sun Jae told her. She wasn't a fan yet during this time but because Sun Jae's words touched her, she dedicated her succeeding years to return the favor and support him till the end. 

Fast forward to 2022, everything seemed to have gone well with Sol's life. She was working online to be able to buy Eclipse's concert tickets, merchandise and her own needs. She really did put effort in surviving each day and it's all thanks to Sun Jae. However, it's all different with Sun Jae. After 14 years in his singing career with his bandmates, he has come up with the decision to retire from the business. But it's tough to execute his plans since his manager as well as his bandmates were against it all. Having enough with everything, he decided to just end his life.
