Doctor Cha is probably my most favorite on-going Kdrama right now. I just watched one episode right now and I'm totally hooked into it. Why? It's seldom occurrence for me to be able to find a drama that connects with my emotions in watching just the 1st episode and Doctor Cha is one of that kind.
Doctor Cha is a licensed doctor but she abandoned her career to succumb to what the old society demands for a married woman. She dedicated herself to be a good wife, mother and daughter-in-law but little did she know, her husband has a mistress, her son and daughter have their own lives and her mother-in-law is just a selfish old lady that doesn't care about her well being. Sigh. It really pains me that, a capable woman like her did everything she could for her own family yet none of her efforts and sacrifices were appreciated. Just look at how Cha Jeong Suk (Uhm Jung Hwa) became miserable after being a housewife. She totally forgot herself as she became slave to her family who did not appreciate her. Sometimes, in a difficult situation like there where no one appreciates you, you have to stand and stay rooted for yourself. Self love is the key but it's easier said than done.
After getting sick, I hope episode 2 will bring Jeong Suk a hit on her head that she needs to be wise and stand for herself. She's basically clueless before getting sick with all the things that's truly happening to her surroundings like how her husband's cheating on her. Sigh... Doctor Cha, I'm rooting for you, please find your own worth after getting a 2nd chance in life.
Women are very capable and if men are afraid of these kinds then they are nothing but an incompetent no-balls kind of man. Society really needs to change in how they see women. Men are not the only capable being on this planet.
