The Tale of Lady Ok | HIGHLY Recommended K-drama!

The Tale of Lady Ok has become one of my favorite period K-drama of all time. It adds to my list with The Crowned Clown and Captivating the King on it. It's just special in a way that the female protagonist was born as a lowly slave, pretended to be a noble and served the people (noble and slaves) equally as a Legal Advocate and then when her real identity got revealed in the end, people were still very accepting of her because of the life she has led as a Legal Advocate. In short, a lowly slave has saved a lot of people and that became her saving grace from being convicted and criticized for the rest of her life. 

Another thing that made the whole drama special to me was the male protagonist, Seung Hwi. He has displayed his undying love for Gudeok/Tae Young all throughout the series. Without him, I don't think Tae Young would have survive a life full of enemies that wants to bring her down. Obviously, as a Legal Advocate, Tae Young earned a lot of enemies but she also gained a lot of allies like my favorite ally of her, Lady Kim. I seriously like her. She's basically that first enemy that Taeyoung helped as a Legal Advocate that became loyal to her throughout the series. Tbh, if Seung Hwi was Tae Young's loyal lover then Lady Kim is Tae Young's loyal friend. 

The storyline of this drama was really good and every character has distinguished developments as the story progressed. You'll come to love even more the characters you've already loved before and you'll learn to forgive and love as well those characters you've hated before. However, there's this one character that was obviously used only to pull everything back together at the end after all the chaos that has been made, and it's none other than, Yoon Gyum. Yes, that doppelganger of of Cheon Seung Hwi and brother of Do Gyum. Till the very end we didn't know why he and Seung Hwi looked alike. lol But because of that, the main characters were able to get saved several times in the drama. I guess we shouldn't question that anymore if it's the case. kkk In The Crowned Clown drama, a performer looked the same as the King as well and that's where the story evolved too... yet the drama turned out really good as well. (One of my favorites too!) Well, perhaps it's a norm in a period drama with such theme to not ask further question as long as it's executed really well. kkk

Anyway, the drama was well received locally (SK) as it reached double digits in the viewership ratings. The finale got its all time high nationwide viewership rating of 13.575%. It's also part of top 10 TV series on Netflix during its run. It may not have been as popular as those mainstream dramas to kdrama fans around the world but it's still considered a success for sure!

The final verdict is here. Will I recommend this K-drama?! Definitely YES! Tbh, it's been a while since I have listed a new kdrama to add on this special list of mine and I'm so glad that it's finally here. 

Lim Ji Yeon's "The Tale of Lady Ok" Reached 9.5% Nationwide Viewership Ratings with Episode 8 | Their Highest Record to Date

Episode 8 of The Tale of Lady Ok achieved a personal best record of 9.5% in the nationwide viewership ratings. It's so close to achieving double digits!! The show is actually really good and I'm happy that it's doing well locally (SK). This drama's run actually reminds me of Captivating the King. It has a good storyline with impressive cast, it's doing well locally but a little quiet reception from the international kdrama viewers. The drama is fighting in the Netflix top 10 tv series in my country though. So much alike of what had happened before to Captivating the King too. 

Here's a short recap and review for episode 8:

Due to Taeyoung's chosen profession of being a Legal Advocate, she inevitably gained a lot of enemies. Lady Song from the Baek family is one of them. Due to her toxic and obsessive mindset about the disparity of nobles and slaves, she has put her family in danger most especially her own son. If you could remember Baek Yi's case from the early episodes of this show, the young master took the blame of Baek Yi's death even though it was actually his mother who was the real mastermind of everything that happened to Baek Yi. So years after getting their punishment, Lady Song's husband and son (the young master) both died. And so she's enraged and became devoted to avenge their death against Taeyoung using her own daughter, Miryeong. 

Miryeong was manipulated by her own mother, Lady Song, that it was all Taeyoung's fault for the death of her brother and father. This became her driving force to deceive and take revenge against Taeyoung. She approached Do Gyum and got married with him with the thought of revenge at first but later, she found out about the real truth from Taeyoung. This ended her being manipulated by her own mother's delusions and lies. In the end, Miryeong became truly devoted to Taeyoung as well as her husband Do Gyum after coming clean and apologizing to Taeyoung. 

Yoon Gyum, on the other hand, is slowly becoming one of my hated characters of the show. TBH, I liked him in the early episodes due to his mission but now I no longer know what he's really fighting for. I do get it that he may not be informed about the real situation of what his family had gone through throughout the years but seriously, everything started from him. He should've been curious as to how it affected his family's lives because of his selfishness. Yep, I call it now selfishness because that's how I see him now. He's only thinking about his own survival, not thinking about his wife and most especially his little brother. Sigh. He's asking for everyone to understand him and the likes of him but he's not even trying to understand those people around him.

Seung Hwi and Taeyoung reunited again after Taeyoung fought and won a case for Seung Hwi. Obviously, they both still love each other and were holding back their feelings because of the situation Gudeok was in. But I hope, a time will come that the both of them will be free to express their love for each other. 

Choo Yeong Woo Sets Out on a Journey Alone, Leaving Lim Ji Yeon Behind in "The Tale of Lady Ok" Episode 4

Sung Yoon Geum learned about Ok Tae Young's real identity as Gudeok and in return, he revealed his secret as well to her. He's a man that cannot embrace a woman and even with this he proposes marriage to Tae Young and promised to protect each other's secrets. With that, their marriage proceeded and there, Cheon Seung Hwi (the story teller) found out that Gudeok's groom shares the same identical face as him. This instantly became the saving grace of Yoon Geum later in the show though.

One of the villains, Lee Chung Il, commenced a mining with workers composed of young slaves to get him gold in the mountains. Afraid that he might get caught doing this illegal mining, he had to stop the magistrate from doing raid in the mountains by discovering and revealing about the Devoted Hearts Organization. This secret organization helps those children who are considered an outcast during that period of time. It turned out that this secret organization's leader and founder was none other than Sung Yoon Geum. His mission was to rescue and protect those people who are like him (yes, in a much understandable word, he's homosexual). During this period of time that they're living in, homosexuals aren't accepted even if they're born nobles which is why Yoon Geum trained the people he rescued some self defense to fight for themselves against oppressors. However, Lee Chung Il identified them as rebels quickly and caused turmoil in their country which led to the magistrate losing his position. Something that made Lee Chung Il victorious. 

Every member of this secret group has a Chinese character of heart stamped on their shoulder, therefore Yoon Geum has this mark. The only reason he survived the search was because Seung Hwi helped him by switching with him before showing his shoulder to the military. And once Yoon Geum survived, he went out on a journey alone, living his father and Gudeok behind. 

I honestly feel bad for Gudeok here, he has no one to turn to again. Magistrate is out of office and her husband has to hide from their country. I guess, only this way, she'll be able to reunite with her first love, Cheon Seung Hwi and be together this time. Seeing the preview for the next episode, it seemed like Gudeok will once again have to return as a slave as she goes on a journey with the story teller until her husband return to their land. 

The Tale of Lady Ok Reached All Time High Personal Record of 7.8% Nationwide Viewership Ratings with Episode 3

My cravings for historical kdrama lately has finally ended when Lim Ji Yeon's The Tale of Lady Ok has begun airing. This drama started Nov. 30 and as of writing, it already has 3 episodes available. Tbh, just watching the first 2 episodes, I'm already captured by it. There's really something about historical dramas that captivates me especially when the story is well written. Well, a historical drama + well written script is perfection to me. I always love it when historical characters, may it be royalties, nobles or slaves, I'm fascinated by how they live their lives, outsmart their enemies and speak eloquently. A lot of people may be bored with this type of drama especially when there are lots of words being thrown here and there, but if the script is well written and conveyed in a convincing way.... there's no way I'm gonna be bored with it. This is why I loved Captivating the King before too. Not much people or kdrama fan pages talked about it, but I did. Because it's just perfection, it served exactly what I wanted in a historical Kdrama. And that's what exactly is being served to me too in The Tale of Lady Ok. 

Anyway, Gudeok is a slave whose master is the daughter of Kim Nak Su. She witnessed how cruel these nobles treated them like animals. Her mom died because she got sick and was thrown out of the house instead of giving her medicine. Gudeok worked very hard to save up money outside the Kim's house to fulfill her dream to reside by the sea with her father. Working outside was prohibited by the Kims so when Gudeok worked for Song Seo In/ Cheon Seung Hwi's kitchen, So Hye tasted the food served to be very familiar. And that's how Gudeok got busted by her master. Unfortunatly she was found at So Hye's husband-to-be's room which caused outrage from So Hye (the Kims' daughter/Gudeok's master). 

Gudeok ran away with her dad from the Kim's outrage and cruelty but got separated for years. Gudeok worked at the inn and there she met the Lady Ok Tae Young. A noble woman who treats slaves as equal. A wonderful woman who aspires to be a local advocate to serve people equally. Tae Young became friends with Gudeok and even took her as a family (adopted sister). But due to the bandits attack to the inn, Tae Young and her father died which left Gudeok as the only survivor. So one day, when Gudeok opened her eyes, she was found by Tae Young's grandma and there she lived as the new Lady Ok Tae Young. 

After many years that passed by, in episode 3, Gudeok who's living now as Ok Tae Young sees her master again. Waaaaah! That bitch needs to learn her lesson and hopefully Gudeok will be the one to do that. Only if she won't get busted though!

This Is What Made Me Enjoy Lies Hidden In My Garden | Reaction

I still couldn't move on yet from Lies Hidden in My Garden because it gave me visualizations on some of my darkest imaginations. I really have a weird kind of thinking that sometimes bother me whether am I the only one thinking about it or there's a lot of us on this planet. haha! Let me share what I'm referring to. 

1. Joo Ran's situation of depending on anyone but herself. For someone who sometimes is indecisive with my decisions in life, I actually am kind of relating to Joo Ran's situation. To the point that I'm having goosebumps how similar she is to me and how it answers my question of 'what if I lose myself because of over depending on others later on?' Joo Ran showed me how frustrating it can be to become like her. I do find my similarity towards Joo Ran but not as severe as her yet. Thank goodness I'm awakened quickly from this lack of self esteem and trust, so this seriously inspired me to actually become a better version of me. LOL 

2. Hae Soo confessed that she didn't kill her husband but she stayed with his corpse because she could not accept that her husband died. And so she kept her husband's corpse until the foul odor of it was already smelled by her neighbors. Only then, the police found out about her dead husband.

I know this is crazy  but I actually have this kind of scenario in my head. Not exactly the same but just similar. The question of what would happen to someone if they don't burry the corpse of their loved one? Just continue on living with it like nothing happened? I know it's gross but yeah, this drama showed me exactly what might happen. Haha! Creepy, Ikr! 

All these crazy things going inside my head and thanks to this drama I get to visualize what could have been. kkk No, readers, don't get scared to me. 

Aside from the 2 points that made me like this drama, I also love the actors and actresses involved here. I think they did an excellent job portraying each of their characters. Although this ain't a 10 out of 10 drama as it indeed have flaws and vague direction of answering details like (who killed Joo Ran's sister, was it just suicide in the end? I think this is what a lot of viewers are so confused about. And for me, why does Jae Ho make Sung Jae drink milk when he's allergic to it? lol).

Anyways, what about you? What made you stick with this drama till the end? I saw a lot of viewers not sticking with it till the end because they find it boring. Well, we all have different preferences so I don't judge them but for me, I really enjoyed and loved it. 

Lies Hidden In My Garden Ends With Kim Tae Hee And Lim Ji Yeon Living Their Own Lives Happily | Recommended Kdrama

Lies Hidden In My Garden finally ended with Joo Ran finally owning responsibility of her own life and decisions. Up until the very end, I wasn't sure what exactly was running through her head when she was executing the plan with Sang Eun against her husband because obviously, she too, was still confused on what she should really do. She was basically trying to figure out things while on the spot, whether she should help out her husband or stick to the original plan with Sang Eun? 

When Joo Ran asked the question as to why he killed Soo Min, it felt like she was trying to find a justification to the decision she was already inclining to which is going to the original plan with Sang Eun. She wanted affirmation that she's doing the right thing because she couldn't decide fully on her own. She doesn't trust herself yet. So when Jae Ho finally showed his true colors in front of Joo Ran, she finally stood for herself, probably out of fear for her life that made up her mind. In the end, she pushed her husband down the stairs when an opportunity came. 

If I'm being honest, I hate Joo Ran throughout the series. I really understand the frustrations coming from the viewers commenting on my posts in our FB page. I find it really funny but this ending episode made me realize and remember that... Joo Ran is really not mentally stable. Her final statement as the defendant in court made me more understanding of her kind:

Joo Ran's final statement as the defendant:

"I lived in a house with a garden. It was a house with a garden that looked big, well-maintained and green from the outside. But even before the stench began to come from the backyard, I was living in fear that others might see my anxiety. I just hoped that they saw me as a woman living in a house in the highest place and with the biggest garden. During that time, in our backyard, a girl was murdered by my husband and my young son even after witnessing it had to keep his silence and endure his agony for his weak mother. If I had seen who my husband really was a bit sooner, if I had been able to convince my husband sooner, if I had been living my life on my own instead of relying on someone to protect me, maybe things could've been different. That's what I regret. 

Also it took too long for me to realize what Id protect was not my family but my anxiety. I've been wanting to escape so badly. I deeply regret it."

Joo Ran had been suffering in anxiety for a very long time to which she succumbed on relying to others to ease her mind from whether she's doing the right thing or not. She puts her trust on others because that's what made her mind at peace. And that's what made her so dependent on everyone around her, specifically on her sister, reason why she got totally lost in her life when her sister died. She has no one to rely on when her sister died, their mother seemed unreliable so that's probably why Joo Ran's mental health worsen. That's when Park Jae Ho took advantage of the situation and entered the scene, proposing to Joo Ran and offering her to be her sole guardian now that her sister is gone. Proposal while holding a funeral? That's when you should know that the guy has some hidden agenda. A very wicked one. Turns out that Park Jae Ho is a psycho that's looking for a woman that couldn't decide for herself. Someone that has strong dependence on something in order to live. That's Joo Ran for Jae Ho.

Joo Ran living and relying on Jae Ho throughout their marriage, Joo Ran lost herself and became weaker as a human being. For someone living with her, witnessing her fragile state, I'd definitely get annoyed with her and might resent her. I fully understood where Sung Jae was coming from now when he exploded during his dinner with Joo Ran. Exclaiming that she was too weak. 

Thankfully, Joo Ran met Sang Eun. Sang Eun showed her how to make big decisions in order for her to live. That big decision though that I'm referring to was killing her own husband. Joo Ran asked her before executing their plans together against Jae Ho whether she regretted that decision and Sang Eun said yes she regretted it but she saw it as to saving 2 people, herself and the baby. She was looking at the positive side despite the dark crime she did. That talk was definitely an eye opening for Joo Ran in taking a big leap towards taking responsibility of her life. 

In the end, she decided to be responsible of her actions. Taking punishment in killing her husband, in protecting Sung Jae and the friend that inspired her, Sang Eun, with her testaments. Decisions after decisions, Joo Ran no longer cared about regrets because at the end of the day, it was her who decided things for herself. And that's the beauty of living your own life, being able to direct your own life to the path where you wanted to take. At this point, she no longer wanted to be a prisoner of her mind and her husband, she wanted to be herself and that's enough to continue on living even with lots of regrets. 

I honestly am very happy with this ending. Joo Ran made a decision to live her for herself but after she comes clean of her crime while Sang Eun chose to burry her dark secrets in the past and continue on living for her child. One decides to live morally clean while the other didn't. They're the opposite personality wise, but they both impacted each other's life. And I am glad, that despite them not hanging out personally, in their mind they still think about each other as they moved forward. Their relationship? According to Sang Eun's response to the visitation paper, they're friends and I love it for them! I'm happy that they found the will to live now that they're free from their cruel husbands. Yay!

Should I recommend this drama? Definitely! I enjoyed it very much!  

Kim Tae Hee Deceives Lim Ji Yeon In Lies Hidden In My Garden Episode 7

Holy fudge! This episode was so intense! All this while I was over the edge of my seat, thinking about whether Joo Ran and Sang Eun's plans to dispose Jae Ho would succeed. But then boom, the ending scene happened where Joo Ran betrayed Sang Eun at the last minute and Jae Ho took over. 

It's true that I was fully indulged in Sang Eun and Joo Ran teaming up but I couldn't help but think thoroughly Joo Ran's sudden determination and alarming decision to eliminate her husband. After having confrontation with Sung Jae from the previous episode, it's true that it's not surprising that Joo Ran would come up with that decision, however, it's still strange wherever I look into it. Strange in a way that her plans with Sang Eun were going smoothly. Knowing Jae Ho, a person who knows everything that's happening inside his household, for him to not notice Joo Ran's sudden change of demeanor would definitely look so strange. Don't you think so?

Throughout Sang Eun's plans and Joo Ran agreeing to everything, I didn't doubted their team for a little while until 'd-day' came. When Joo Ran was making that smoothie I suddenly thought of the golden question of "what if Joo Ran was faking it and that she's actually protecting her 'family' here? Would that mean, Jae Ho knew everything and this is their way to corner Sang Eun to their house to finally put her into silence?" I had goosebumps and then Joo Ran went out to fetch Sang Eun outside. Joo Ran's emotions were showing and Sang Eun thought of it as her guilt for trying to deliver their evil plans, but little did she know... it was her guilt towards her. She was deceiving her from the start! OMG!

Now I feel so bad for Sang Eun. The scene where her mother was letting Sang Eun go, to live her life on her own, made me so sad. The mother knew everything that's happening inside their family and even though she may look mentally sick, she's actually just stating facts of what she had seen. She also saw how Sang Eun was suffering because of their so-called family and even though it was hard for her as a mother, she's letting her daughter go. Which Sang Eun took this chance with a heavy heart. Augh. I'm always a sucker to mother-daughter/son sad scenes like this. *crying 

In the end, Sang Eun chose to live her life only to be deceived and killed by the Park family. Life is cruel indeed. 

But wait! Have you seen the preview for the next and last episode of the series? Jae Ho was trying to kill Joo Ran! I think what we're seeing in today's episode ain't the full picture yet. Anyways, whatever it is, it's obvious that Jae Ho decided to only save his own life here. He'll abandon his family who knew about his secrets. Geez, if this became the case then he's a total psycho for making us believe that he's doing all of this to save their family. Wah! What can we expect from a criminal like him?

Cha Sung Je Tells His Side Of Story to Kim Tae Hee In Lies Hidden In My Garden Episode 5

I honestly do not know how to feel here. First, I was flabbergasted knowing that Sung Jae was the killer from Jae Ho's side of story from episode 5, I was totally buying it already. Now at episode 6, Sung Jae tells his side of story and ended up Jae Ho being the 'real' killer. Whew! Our main suspect from the very start. 

I may sound evil with what I'm about to say, but I think both of these male species are to blame. Yes, if we're going to be literal with the word 'killer', it is indeed Park Jae Ho. But the first attack, may it be intentional or not, it was still from Sung Jae. He just got lucky that Soo Min survived but she was paralyzed, almost dead in that state. Geez everything is so complicated in this family. They're all weak headed human beings, I'm so frustrated. 

If Sung Jae only told his mom after he found out about Soo Min's survival, he could've saved her life. But then again, it wasn't really an ideal option for him. He got scared and only a minor so.... let's blame his naivety on that? Ugh. And to think his mother Joo Ran was weak AF, who can't think and decide for herself, Sung Jae had no one to turn to at all. He might have felt alone in this especially when his father was a part of this dirty little secret. 

Though, we still couldn't take away the fact that all of it started with Park Jae Ho. As per Soo Min, Park Jae Ho got her pregnant but as per Jae Ho's story, she wasn't telling the truth. But after watching the previous episodes and hearing all lies of Park Jae Ho, I wouldn't be surprised that it's all true in the end. Maybe Jae Ho really wanted Soo Min dead from the very start. It just so happened that Sung Jae took the first move and Jae Ho really took advantage of the situation too. Because if he was really innocent from the start, seeing Soo Min survived falling from the stairs, he could've sent her to the hospital, heal and deal with her. But no, he killed her instead. 

But you know what? If I were Sung Jae I might have the intention to eliminate Soo Min too or maybe just hurt her a little. Lol I mean, she's a bad bitch so... meh Kkkk

On the other hand, Sang Eun. Geez, she's caught up in her life and her survival instinct is to dig through Park Jae Ho in order to get that 500 million won. Lady ain't scared anymore because the case with her husband is closed as suicide even though she's the suspect. Good luck to you taking a risk. 

Cha Sung Je Turned Out To Be The Bad Guy In Lies Hidden In My Garden Episode 5

Holy crap! Who saw that coming?! We were assuming the killer would have been between the parents, Jooran or Jae Ho but it was their son! Holy shocks! asjhfjadfjkhagk! I do agree that the kid was suspicious from the start and I was trying to decipher why and just thought that maybe Park Jae Ho was threatening him from telling the truth but WTF! Hahaha! That revelation really got into me and now I'm completely disturbed at work. 

In our facebook page, we posted about the possibility of Park Jae Ho only trying to protect Jooran. I was right with the 'protect' thing but it came with the twist because he's trying to protect Jooran from knowing that the killer here is none other than their son Sungjae. No wonder Park Jae Ho was always bringing Sungjae up when they're having an argument. Who would have thought that he's actually telling us the clue already! Wah!

With all the speculations and theories I have made up though, there's one thing that I was right about! And it's Sang Eun being the murderer of her own husband. It was indeed the drink that she brought in their car, the poison was there obviously. With how she reacted when her husband finally drank it, I had a feeling that she's actually planning in taking her own life after taking her husband's. But the hesitance of saying she wanted to live instead pushed through and so she survived. Maybe because she wanted to finally taste that freedom wherein no one would beat her. I pity her so much and that I want her to get away from that toxic marriage so bad but I didn't want it to be this way. She could have just reported it to the police. Now her life is ruined. 

Lim Ji Yeon Trends 'Husband's Death Meal' As Viral Menu

Did you know that because of Lim Ji Yeon's performance on this particular scene, she was able to trend the set meal she's eating here and called it 'Husband's Death Meal' by the netizens? Composed of jjajangmyeon, tangsuyuk and fried dumplings, 'Husband's Death Meal' went viral on social media as viewers posted pictures of this meal on their accounts. This is all because Choo Sang Eun (Lim Ji Yeon) convinced the viewers how good this meal combination was just by how she devoured this meal as if it's the tastiest meal on the planet. Indeed her acting performance here became a testament to it. The power of Lim Ji Yeon's mukbang. Lol

This scene was from the 2nd episode of the drama Lies Hidden in My Garden. After the prosecutor interrogated her a bit about the death of her husband Kim Yoon Beom (Choi Jae Rim), Sang Eun immediately went to a restaurant that serves jjajangmyeon. Her mouth watered and craved for it when she saw the some prosecutors eating jjajangmyeon while she was being interrogated at the police station. 

Her cravings must be beyond our imagination because despite the death of her husban, she did not waver from eating enthusiastically. Who would blame her though? She finally got out of domestic abuse from her husband! It's indeed time for a full meal as celebration for her freedom.

However, the Husband's death meal caused an issue as well. Some people didn't like it at all as they find the term too provocative and it made them uncomfortable. The issue about gender conflict were also raised once again especially the male population on the internet.

Kim Tae Hee Works With Lim Ji Yeon To Discover The Truth In Lies Hidden In My Garden

For a mentally weak person like Jooran, I think it'll be so hard to find out the truth especially when she's dealing with psychotic people like her husband Park Jae Ho and Chu Sang Eun. Determining who's telling the truth between them would be a challenge. 

Joo Ran teaming up with Sang Eun to dig through the lies of her husband, she's basically putting herself in danger. But I think she really needed to take this risk in order to live peacefully. I mean, I wouldn't be at peace as well if I encounter people and events that tell me that my husband is a murderer as well. 

Speaking of husband, Joo Ran's husband Park Jae Ho is so wicked! I know that these husbands being overly kind to their wives are suspicious AF! Just look at him! He's an effin' criminal and he's been lying to his wife over and over again. Now we all know that the corpse in their garden was his victim Lee Soo Min. And the reason why the smell was gone in their household was because during that rainy night that he went out, he took care of it and probably dump the body somewhere else. Geez, criminals like him should rot in hell! Scary AF!

Meanwhile Chu Sang Eun, despite her husband Kim Yoon Beom gone, the domestic abuse he did to her caused her trauma and will forever haunt her. That scene where she's with the father of Soo Min, she was so pitiful. This is why domestic violence should stop and that we should report to the police as soon as the first attack was made. We should not tolerate violence because it's hell on earth.

Lim Ji Yeon Proceeds Blackmailing Kim Sung Oh In Lies Hidden in My Garden Episode 3

This drama is crazy! Wow! Okay, I think that it's clear that Chu Sang Eun (Lim Ji Yeon) is the one that murdered Kim Yoon Beom (Choi Jae Rim), right? The black and white scene where Sang Eun was with Yoon Beom inside the car, Yoon Beom was unconscious. I find it hard to believe that he's just sleeping because why in the middle of the road while he's on the driver's seat? Remember the scene wherein Sang Eun bought drinks for them from the previous episode? Have you noticed that Sang Eun kept on looking at the drink? Maybe she put something in there for Yoon Beom to lost consciousness. Might be it, right? But anyways, going back to the black and white scene flashback, Sang Eun took over the driver's seat and when the car started, Yoon Beom was nowhere to be found in the car already. 

There was a theory before episode 3 came out, that it was really Chu Sang Eun who's the murderer of her own husband and that she's only blackmailing Park Jae Ho in order for him to turn out to be the prime suspect on the case. That's sick, right?! Chu Sang Eun is turning out to be a mad woman! I did pity her before when she was a victim of domestic abuse, that won't change. But right now, I'm building up this rage towards her because of how she's behaving! Crazy!

Now let's go to Park Jae Ho (Kim Sung Oh). Geez, he's so scary! I mean, I would never want in my life to encounter a gas lighter like him and worst even become a part of my family. Seriously, the way he turn things upside down in order for him to win an argument is scary AF! He's making his wife look like she's mentally ill when she might not be anymore. How can she even recover with such a man in the household?! These were the events that happened in this episode that made me really think that he's a bad guy and that he's nothing but a manipulator.

1. When the police came to investigate more of Yoon Beom's murder case and brought up about the 100 million won transaction between him and Yoon Beom, Park Jae Ho was caught lying right away when he said it was a compensation for the rebate that happened in their company. The police instantly told him if everything was solved with money why another employee got fired? Hmmmmm... what a quick witted detective. 

2. Jooran asked to see the CCTV footage in front of their neighbor Oh Hae Soo's house. Then the next thing that Park Jae Ho did was to scare Jooran with Oh Hae Soo's past life wherein she killed her husband. He told her not to get in touch with her because she's a crazy woman. Gosh, he's becoming more and more obvious!

3. The worst for today's episode. The earring scene! My goodness, he was trying to put a different kind of reality in her mind. He saw the earring in their shared wardrobe so it meant that Joo Ran was lying about losing it in their car. But what did he do? In order for him to get away from Joo Ran's suspicions of him, he wanted Joo Ran's lies to become a reality. It's as if telling her, I believe your lies so believe mine as well.. As if telling her that they should live that way where truth is hidden between them. Gosh! I want to punch his face! And the way he turned this argument into him being the victim. Raaaah! I hate him!

Kim Tae Hee and Lim Ji Yeon's Lives Intertwined Because of their Mysterious Bad Husbands | Lies Hidden in My Garden Episodes 1 & 2 Quick Recap

I really like dark thriller dramas like Anna and now there's a new ENA drama that's centered to this theme called Lies Hidden in my Garden starring Kim Tae Hee and Lim Ji Yeon. This is about Moon Ju Ran (Kim Tae Hee) being mentally unstable since the day she found her sister dead in her apartment room while Chu Sang Eun (Lim Ji Yeon) is a battered housewife. Both of them were living on a different social status going through different bad situations in their own lives. Their fate would meet one day because of their suspicious bad husbands. 

After watching the first episode, I just know that there really is something mysterious about Joo Ran's husband, and it's a bad feeling really. He's acting suspiciously kind to his wife to the point that it felt like he's only gaslighting her. He's totally not making Joo Ran's mental health improve at all. Whenever Joo Ran is suspicious about something especially that corpse she found and smelled in their garden, he just ignores it and planted a different kind of reality in Joo Ran's mind. Always telling her that she's only seeing things because her mental state is worsening. Damn, it's making me so angry. 

Speaking of angry, I'm even more angry to Sang Eun's husband. WTF! How can a man like that be able to beat his own pregnant wife? But what's really alarming here is that Sang Eun just make it look like everything's endurable for quite some time. Though I think she had enough and I have strong gut feeling that she's the suspect in killing her husband and not Park Jae Ho (Kim Sung Oh). Kim Yoon Beom (Choi Jae Rim) deserves to die, he's a wild animal after all. But it would have been better if he just learned his lessons by going to jail and regret his wrong doings. In that way, we could be even more satisfied seeing him having a difficult time for his wrong doings than him being dead quickly like that. lol I like seeing punished. 

Anyways, this drama is really interesting and I wanted to know more about it. If you're planning in watching this drama I suggest that you do that during daylight because dang, it has full of surprises. I mean literal surprises that would make you jolt in shock. lol
