Go Kyung Pyo Protected His Heart and Dream In Frankly Speaking Episode 3

This episode tells us exactly what it means to be protecting our hearts by expressing what we really mean and by standing up for our own self including our dreams. Nobody would be able to protect us but ourselves. This is really such a great reminder to all of us especially in our modern society today where we compromise ourselves and our feelings to give way to other people because there's hierarchy that dictates us what to do. This happens most especially in our workplace. It's true that in order to survive this chain, we must use white lies and sugarcoat our words to come out pleasing to the ears of those we wanted to have a good impression with but we should do it moderately. In a way that, we wouldn't lose our true selves in the long run. That has become the problem with Song Ki Baek here. He was so used to living in lies and sugarcoat everything that he lost his true self to get himself to his desired dream/goal. Now that he got a disease of telling only the truth, it

Son Seok Ku | A Quick Guide To The Cast Of My Liberation Notes

I'm sure that most of you haven't really heard of his name until his role in My Liberation Notes. Do not worry, because I am the same. When I started My Liberation Notes, his character there really stood out to me even though he's not talking much. Mr. Gu, despite depressed and alcoholic, has a charm that could attract any woman out there. This is already proven with his skyrocketing popularity across the whole Kdrama lovers around the globe.

So that question in here is, who is the actor behind Mr. Gu in My Liberation Notes?

Without further ado, let's start this quick guide to Son Seok Ku.

Personal Life And Career
  • Son Seok Ku was born in February 7, 1983 in South Korea.
  • He studied abroad in Canada during grade school.
  • The reason why his family sent him to study abroad is because his parents got worried about him for being 'unusually' shy.
  • Son Seok Ku majored in visual arts and film at the School of Art Institute of Chicago as he dreamed in becoming a documentary director.
  • He finished his mandatory military service as he volunteered to join the Iraqi Zaytun unit.
  • He debuted as an actor in a movie called Scarlet Innocence (2014) and later debuted in television with series entitled Kidnapping Assemblyman Mr. Clean. Both debut, he only acted for supporting roles.
  • His agency is SBD Entertainment.
  • Sense 8 (2017) was considered to be Son Seok Ku's breakout role. He joined the cast for its 2nd season. Sense8 is an American science fiction drama streaming television series for Netflix.
  • He speaks fluent English.
  • He then became known and was nominated as Best New Actor for Suits (2018) and Matrimonial Chaos (2018) in KBS Drama Awards, Hit and Run Squad (2019) and Matrimonial Chaos (2018) in 55th Baeksang Arts Awards and Nothing Serious (2022) in Director's Cut Awards. Too bad he wasn't able to get the said award.
  • In year 2019, he was reported to be the CEO of a 4.6M USD machine tool distribution company called GOMT co Ltd and was confirmed to be true by his agency SBD Entertainment.
  • However, along with the confirmation, SBD Entertainment also clarified that Son Seok Ku's main profession and career focuses now in being an actor. And that he stepped down already with the management activities in his company.
  • Also in 2019, Son Seok Ku appeared in Gummy's music video called Alone.
  • Year 2021, Son Seok Gu debuted as a director with his rerun of Unframed.
  • He then participated in a Netflix drama called Jirisan (2021) starring Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hyun. He took the role of Jun Ji Hyun's first love.
  • Still a Netflix original series, Son Seok Ku took the role of captain Im Ji-seop in D.P. (2021), starred by Jung Hae In.
  • Seems like the peak of Son Seok Ku's career is 2022 since his action film called The Roundup was considered to be the highest grossing Korean film of 2022. And later on he shook not only South Korean viewers but also the whole Kdrama world as he starred as Mr. Gu in My Liberation Notes (2022).
  • Son Seok Ku already has a good portfolio when it comes to his acting career. He already starred in numerous great television dramas and films. I hope he'll continue to get more attention because he really is a good actor, he's very deserving of it.

Dating History
  • During his first ever variety show appearance in My Little Old Boy on November 21, 2021, Son Seok Ku revealed his ideal type. He wants to date someone who is witty and humorous.
  • In 2018, Son Seok Ku was reported to be dating his Sense 8 co-star and same agency artist Bae Doona. However, their agency shut down this rumor and reasoned out that they are nothing but colleagues/ co-stars.
  • In December 2021, Son Seok Ku was reported to be dating Lee Seol. (trivia: Lee Seol was referred by Son Seok Ku to make special appearance in the Netflix series D.P.) And again, similar to his case with Bae Doona, both of their agencies denied the dating rumor.

Comments
  • Am so glad that I discovered this actor in My Liberation Notes. I actually have come across Son Seok Ku first in the drama Jirisan. I, in fact, got attracted to his 'clean looks' there. He was the first love that Jun Ji Hyun was waiting for a long time but they did not end up together. haha
  • Anyways, it was My Liberation Notes that introduced him to me and the rest of the world.
  • He's so likeable and is very manly that I can't help but get swooned by him.
  • He's very attractive and I think his sharp eyes does the magic.
  • Gah! His character Mr. Gu in My Liberation Notes will forever remain unforgettable to me.
  • He really has impressive acting skills that even if he doesn't speak much dialogue, his eyes and body gestures could really relay the message clearly to the viewers on what he feels.
  • I will surely check his previous works and will certainly do the same thing with his future projects. I love him already.
