Jeon Mi Do | A Quick Guide To The Cast Of Hospital Playlist

I'm at it again with my curiosity, with the actors and actresses I'm watching on Kdramas, that drives me to research about them. I've made several quick guides on cast members of a certain Kdrama already on this blog which started last year and I'm back at it with my new found favorite Hospital Playslit. The show is currently on its 2nd season and it's about heartwarming friendship between wise doctors in their 40s that really hooked me up with it. Not only that, the OST is superb and songs are being played by the band composing of 5 doctors. Anyways, back to Jeon Mi Do now. Watching her in Hospital Playlist, the first question that popped in my mind was if she can really not sing? Because the OST playing in the background says otherwise. I knew it was her singing in the background music so I had to find the answer and guess what what I found out? Here I will share to you the answer and a full quick guide to get to know more about the actress behind Chae Song Hwa, Jeon Mi Do!

Personal Life and Career

  • Jeon Mi Do was born August 4, 1982 in Busan, South Korea.
  • She studied in Myongji College under the department of theater and film.
  • She's mostly known and active in musical theater works which garnered her awards as well.
  • Jeon Mi Do debuted in 2006 with her first musical project Mouse and from there onwards her career in the musical theater continued and soared high.
  • She bagged her first ever award in her career with Best Rookie Award for her musical theater performance in Agnes of God (2008), 2 years after her debut.
  • She's one of the valuable actresses in this field as she won several Best Actress Awards for Once (2015), Sweeney Todd (2017), Maybe Happy Ending (2018) and Doctor Zhivago (2019).
  • Mother is her first drama on television in 2018, however, she only have a guest role.
  • After that, she debuted on wide screen with Metamorphosis in 2019. Sadly, she's yet again acting for a supporting role.
  • And that's when Hospital Playlist (2020) came and gave her a main role of Chae Song Hwa alongside Jo Jung Seok, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho and Kim Dae Myung.
  • Behind the scenes of Hospital Playlist, Jeon Mi Do told how she had difficulty in getting this role as she's considered by the director as 'rookie' in the television dramas. It took her 3 auditions and finally got the role when Jo Jung Seok recommended her to the director.
  • At that time, Jo Jung Seok and Jeon Mi Do haven't had their first interaction yet. 
  • She took up classes in playing the bass instrument for their band in the said drama.
  • It was reported too that she will participate in the upcoming drama called Thirty Nine (2021). She'll take on the main role as well.

  • She married her boyfriend in 2013 after dating for 6 months.

Personality and Character
  • We see her character in Hospital Playlist as happy-go-lucky but still rooted to her responsibilities as a doctor. She's the type that does whatever she wanted, just living her life to the fullest. And it seemed like she's that type in real life as well.
  • She has a very refreshing and light vibe that anyone would really like to be around. That's how I see her while watching her on Hospital Playlist and her behind the scene interviews. 
  • She looked young looking and her smile gave off that 'refreshing' vibe that I was talking about.

Comments
  • I really like her character a lot in Hospital Playlist. I hope she and Ik Joon would really end up together in the drama. They are my ultimate ship! I can't wait when Chae Song Hwa would step outside that friendship line between her and Ik Joon and finally become lovers.
  • As for her career, hopefully she'll consider starring in more television dramas. She's really good at acting that really expresses her character well. With that ability for an actor, she's deserving to get more  recognition.
