One thing I like about kdramas is that the actors' age don't fit their looks most of the time. It's like a guessing game when the actor/actress is unknown yet he/she is on a hit drama. kkk This is exactly what happened to me when I found out about the actress behind Jeong Suk, Uhm Jung Hwa, is only 7 years younger than her on-screen mother-in-law in Doctor Cha actress, Park Jun Geum. Uhm Jung Hwa was born year 1969 while Park Jun Geum was born year 1962.
While watching the drama, I didn't ponder about their age. I just knew that Doctor Cha is middle aged while her mother in law would probably be in her 70s or 80s considering that's how it's usually is in reality, right? But then again, one of the commenters on our Facebook page Korean Drama Updates pointed out their age difference, reason why I'm writing this blog entry. It surprised me of course, to think that they're just 7 years apart. They do both looked old but I just didn't expect the close age gap considering the roles they're portraying for the drama.
Since we're already here, let me put in here the cast of Doctor Cha's current age as of writing this blog post. If you happen to read this in the future, I'll put also their birthyear so you can just do the math to get their real age according to the current year you're in. (Yes I'm talking about my future readers lol)

Park Jun Geum (Seo In Ho's mother)- 1962 - 61 years old
Kim Byung Chul (Seo In Ho)- 1974 - 49 years old
Lee Seo Yeon (Seo I-Rang)- 2003 - 20 years old
Kim Mi Kyung (Cha Jeong Suk's mother)- 1963 - 60 years old
Myung Se Bin (Choi Seung Hi) - 1975 - 48 years old
So Arin (Choi Eun Seo)- 2004 - 19 years old
Min Woo Hyuk (Doctor Roy Kimberley)- 1983 - 40 years old
Baek Joo Hee (Mi Hee)- 1976 - 47 years old
Jo Aram (Jeon So Ra)- 2000 - 23 years old
Sometimes, it's entertaining to learn about these actors/actresses' ages but also painful to see how young these new ones emerging in the kdrama world. Look at them born in the 2000s! wow! I'm getting really old now. huhu
