Kim Ji Won Reads Her Diary About Kim Soo Hyun and Cries for Him in Queen of Tears Episode 15

That last scene got me speechless where Hyun Woo got hit by a car that Eun Sung was driving. The heck was that?! The writer really wanted to torture us with all these heart wrenching events. First, Hae In got a life threatening illness where they made us believe that she only has 3 months to live, then she got a chance to survive but will lose memory and now this with Hyun Woo getting hit by a car!! What the heck was that?!!! Too much! Just too much now, writer-nim. What is wrong with writers recently, wanting to make their protagonists suffer a never ending misfortune for almost the entire series and make the antagonists pay for their evil deeds ONLY at the last episode. Where's the satisfaction there?! This is unbelievable, I want to cry!  For the first time ever though, I didn't cry that much in this episode. It's a laid back one considering the intensity of emotions released for episode 14. It's true that it tugged my heartstrings during that 'first meet' of

Cho Jung Seok Swore To Keep Shin Se Kyung By His Side Forever In Captivating the King Episode 16

Prince Rui's era has ended and so is Qing's oppressive control to King Yi In's Joseon. Hee Soo was sent to Qing after Queen Dowager stepped back from her son's threats and after 9 months, Hee Soo has returned together with the princess' substitute. Hooray! She's still alive and has returned! The substitute was a hero for me! Such courageous little girl is worthy of high praise!

I'm sure that a lot of us are a little confused with why Hee Soo didn't want to let the King know that she has returned. The only thing I could think of is that Hee Soo's afraid that the King might have changed and has moved on from her in that period they were separated. There's no certainty in this world and she assumes that the heart of the King is not an exception to this natural occurence. The person she's in love with is a King and he could get all the girls in Joseon if he may wish so maybe that's what Hee Soo have been thinking all this time. She's not in Joseon for long either so what's the point in telling the King anyway?

Thank goodness, Myung Ha has informed the King about Hee Soo and just like their usual days together, they've played baduk game together. And in this scene at the end, the King has told Hee Soo that he'll kept him by his side forever now... which meant so much possibilities. Does this mean to keep him as a gidaeryeong, concubine or a queen? Hmmm who knows? Wait, is it even possible to make her a queen with? Well, she's still born from an aristocrat family of Kang but will that be able to qualify her? Hmmm... i'm quite not sure.

Anyways, it was a happy ending still! And to also know that Yoo Hyun Bo died in the hands of his little sister's lover Chu Dal Ha made the ending even more satisfying!!! Chung Je Pyo got his punishment too which is also so good to see considering how the King abandoned him just like how Chung Je Pyo abandoned Joseon before. That was so awesome of the King! I can really feel his power!!! Joseon really is in good hands!! I love it!

Now the verdict. Will I recommend this drama? That's an easy YES for me! My goodness, this is an excellent drama worthy of everyone's time! Highly recommended!!!

  7. I agree in regard to everything. It's a great drama. However, as to why Hee Soo wanted to remain away from the King on her return, no, I'm not convinced that a fear he has moved on would be enough. She has always refused the role of concubine and knows the hell that the role of queen would offer her, so is not falling for either of those: both are poison chalices, offering little autonomy and no real power - and certainly no freedom. And she has always known that the King has to procreate, which means he needs a woman, and it can;t be her unless she chooses one of those roles. Both of which have to be approved by the court anyway. If he HAD moved on to another emotional attachment why would she need to conceal her return? Because if he's moved on - may remain friendly, but not demanding - except baduk, which is her forte anyway, and is never affected by her emotions. Her concealment remains, for me, an unsatisfying twist in the plot but it's not overwhelming, just a bit annoying. If someone can come up with a sensible rationale for it I will love them forever!

    1. The king doesnt have to produce a heir since he has a adopted his brothers child. Thats the next king. I think she doesnt want the confinement the role of queen and concubine has to offer.
