Wow another interesting on-going Kdrama is here, The Atypical Family starring Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee. Speaking of Jang Ki Yong, this drama marks to be his comeback acting project after getting discharge from the military last Feb 22, 2023. The Atypical Family also replaced Hide on its timeslot.
Upon watching the first 2 episodes, without reading the synopsis, Bok Gwi Ju together with his family was born with different special powers. However they lost their superpowers due to their modern day problems/lifestyle.
Bok Gwi Ju - special power is he can go back to a happy moment in the past and dwell in it but he cannot change the past. He knows that he cannot touch anything from the past either until Do Da Hae came into the picture. He lost his powers due to depression.
Bok mom - special power is she can forsee the future through dreaming, reason why they've acquired huge wealth. However, she lost her powers due to insomnia. This is the reason why she's so anxious about their family's longevity.
Bok Dong Hee - aka Bok Don't eat hahaha! Her special power is flying but she lost her powers because of her obesity. I honestly pity her so much. She's stress eating and couldn't control herself from eating even if she tries to avoid it. It's kinda frustrating to watch her thoug since she lacks willpower.
Bok Ina - not sure yet what her superpower is but based on the preview for the next episode, it seems like she can order people what to do.
The father of the house doesn't seem to have any super powers though.
Meanwhile, Do Da Hae's family... I can sense already how problematic they are. Lol So their main purpose was to gain wealth by marrying off Da Hae to every rich man. The 2 failed marriage made all sense, it was all part of their evil plans. I feel sad to know that Da Hae's kindness towards the Bok family was only driven by ulterior motive though. But I would still hold onto grandma's vision of the future which is Da Hae becoming the family's savior. That comes with a lot of disappointments and heartbreaks though.
