• Kim So Yeon was born November 2, 1980 in South Korea.
• At the age of 14, she won the top prize from a beauty pageant called Miss Binggrae without the knowledge of her parents in 1994.
• She debuted as an actress in the drama Dinosaur Teacher in 1993 and starred in the popular TV shows such as Reporting for Duty (1996) and Soonpoong Clinic (1998)
• Kim So Yeon became popular also as a commercial model making her the only female Korean teen star to earn 100 million won only in TV commercials.
• She used to be a host of a popular music show Inkigayo from December 6, 1998 to April 16, 2000 along with Kim Jin.
• Her portraying villainous character set sail when she starred in an all time hit drama All About Eve having a record of 42.5% in viewership rating. Her career soar even higher from that but portraying numerous villain roles also made her career go downhill proven when she ventured out from Korean films to Hongkong and Chinese production films such as Just Like A Beautiful Flying Butterfly (2004), Seven Swords (2005) and Anhui Merchants (2007). All these were reported to be unsuccessful.
• She took a break of 3 years from starring in Korean TV shows and only returned in 2008 with Gourmet. Her last drama back then was Autumn Shower (2005).
• Also, after 15 years, she returned to the Korean movie scene with Gabi (2012) since her the comedy film Change (1997). 
• Did you know that she had worked with Lee Ji Ah before too in the project Athena: Goddess of War (2010)? No wonder they work perfectly together.

• Kim Seo Yeon is now married to actor Lee Sang Woo, who she met in the weekend drama, Happy Home (2016).

• Her character in The Penthouse: War In Life really made me curious about her. She's so convincing with her acting like a mad woman that I want to curse every time I see her on screen.
