That last scene got me speechless where Hyun Woo got hit by a car that Eun Sung was driving. The heck was that?! The writer really wanted to torture us with all these heart wrenching events. First, Hae In got a life threatening illness where they made us believe that she only has 3 months to live, then she got a chance to survive but will lose memory and now this with Hyun Woo getting hit by a car!! What the heck was that?!!! Too much! Just too much now, writer-nim. What is wrong with writers recently, wanting to make their protagonists suffer a never ending misfortune for almost the entire series and make the antagonists pay for their evil deeds ONLY at the last episode. Where's the satisfaction there?! This is unbelievable, I want to cry!  For the first time ever though, I didn't cry that much in this episode. Kim So Yeon | Quick Guide To The Cast Of Kdrama 'The Penthouse: War In Life'

We are all provoked and annoyed by her character in The Penthouse: War In Life as Cheon Seo Jin because of her wicked and jealous behavior throughout the series. Along with Joo Dan Tae (Um Ki-Joon), Cheon Seo Jin (Kim So Yeon) is one of the most suspected person to kill Min Seol Ah (Jo Soo Min) in that hit drama. She's the evil witch that possesses a lot of traits that we all hated, and she continue to inflict so much pain and sorrows to the people around her. But, aren't we all curious as to what the actress behind that evil character really is in reality? Is Kim So Yeon the same as the character she's portraying? Or how close is her personality with that character?

Personal Life and Career
  • Kim So Yeon was born November 2, 1980 in South Korea.
  • At the age of 14, she won the top prize from a beauty pageant called Miss Binggrae without the knowledge of her parents in 1994.
  • She debuted as an actress in the drama Dinosaur Teacher in 1993 and starred in the popular TV shows such as Reporting for Duty (1996) and Soonpoong Clinic (1998)
  • Kim So Yeon became popular also as a commercial model making her the only female Korean teen star to earn 100 million won only in TV commercials.
  • She used to be a host of a popular music show Inkigayo from December 6, 1998 to April 16, 2000 along with Kim Jin.
  • Her portraying villainous character set sail when she starred in an all time hit drama All About Eve having a record of 42.5% in viewership rating. Her career soar even higher from that but portraying numerous villain roles also made her career go downhill proven when she ventured out from Korean films to Hongkong and Chinese production films such as Just Like A Beautiful Flying Butterfly (2004), Seven Swords (2005) and Anhui Merchants (2007). All these were reported to be unsuccessful.
  • She took a break of 3 years from starring in Korean TV shows and only returned in 2008 with Gourmet. Her last drama back then was Autumn Shower (2005).
  • Also, after 15 years, she returned to the Korean movie scene with Gabi (2012) since her the comedy film Change (1997). 
  • Did you know that she had worked with Lee Ji Ah before too in the project Athena: Goddess of War (2010)? No wonder they work perfectly together.
  • Since she returned to acting again, she took promising roles such in Iris (2009) and Prosecutor Princess (2010) which gain her popularity again.
  • And now, she's proving her multi-awarded expertise in her entire acting career by playing yet another role of a villain character as Cheon Seo Jin in The Penthouse: War In Life.
  • She's currently under the agency of J-Wide Company.



Dating History
  • Kim Seo Yeon is now married to actor Lee Sang Woo, who she met in the weekend drama, Happy Home (2016).
  • They got married in June 2017.


Personality and Character
  • Kim So Yeon may be popular with her mature, cold-hearted and vicious characters in the dramas and movies she had portrayed but she is actually a sweet and soft spoken person in reality.
  • If you'll be able to watch her in numerous interviews and TV guesting including Running Man, you'll see her true personality.
  • She's also humorous and cheerful type of person.

  • Her character in The Penthouse: War In Life really made me curious about her. She's so convincing with her acting like a mad woman that I want to curse every time I see her on screen. 
  • But knowing about how prominent and experienced she is in acting, I'm able to understand how she's that great of an actress. Truly remarkable! 
  • I honestly was impressed with her outstanding acting portfolio, she's really a huge actress that's for sure.
  • I wonder if she's really the one who killed Min Seol Ah, but even if she wasn't, I hope that she will regret all of her sins in the end.
