Bossam: Steal the Fate's title clearly defines what this drama is all about. It's set in Joseon period where widows cannot remarry unless someone abducts them and marry her. The female lead, Kwon Yuri, portrays a princess named Soo Kyung, a daughter of the King and his concubine. Soo Kyung's husband, however, had died for 3 years ago and as time passed she still hasn't moved on from it and became a prisoner of the castle in the hands of her in-laws. She's basically a living dead because she's treated like a plague and a prisoner of her past, or perhaps she's the one at fault for choosing a way of life. She's a princess and the only daughter of the King, so why is she choosing to mourn all her life? Because she's forever connected with her late husband and had to live her life as a widow for the rest of her life.
Thank goodness, bossam existed at their time and it discontinued Soo Kyung's miserable and boring life. Jung Il Woo's character named Ba Woo, came to the rescue to add colors to her black and white life. Ba Woo was the one who abducted Soo Kyung and 'fortunately', the one who asked them to abduct her died just after they finished the job. Now, the in-laws of Soo Kyung had to make up excuses to the King who wanted to meet the princess the next day. They've decided to hold a funeral for her instead which is really saddening because Soo Kyung got nowhere to go now. She's basically dead to everyone. Poor princess.
But then again, when you lose something, you'll gain something in exchange. Princess will find family in her abductor Ba Woo and his child Cha Dol. Uwaaa! Kwon Yuri as a mother, this is the sight to see! I'm anticipating more from this and watch how their relationship will progress. I'm only at 2nd episode, and I'm already liking the drama! Yas for that!
