I didn't expect that everyone finding out about Jookyung's real face would be this emotional for me. I find it really saddening for some reason. She was already at the peak, with fame gained because of her new looks, but it all went down the hill in just a snap. I do hate Kang Soojun for that, but we all know that Jookyung cannot live always in secrecy, right? Especially that with all the fame, it's bound that everyone will be interested in you to a point that they wanted to know everything about you. It's scary really, fame is scary especially when you are hiding something from your past. It's a privacy issue, but that's how the things are where we're living in. It has to change at some point.
But anyways, back to the topic, I feel so sad about Jookyung's situation. It breaks my heart to see her zoning out of the situation and didn't know what to do. That scene in her classroom where everyone was judging her, it was a real mess. If I were in her situation too, I'd feel the same. Jookyung's most feared event is happening with everyone finding out about the way she really looked without make up. It's the face that got her bullied so it was really understandable that she didn't want anyone to know about it. After all, she transferred to that school in order to start anew and yet.. all of this happened.
I would be really happy that everyone found out about her real face in the most natural way. Like, Jookyung revealing everything to her closest friends and not with someone with ill motive of embarrassing her to the public. Soojin has no right to reveal everything without her consent and she knew how much Jookyung detested her past, clearly she made a betrayal of their friendship. I really hate her. Not everyone needed to know about her real face. Jookyung has the right to make it hidden or revealed. Only Jookyung has the right for herself.
But I guess, it's the main lesson for this whole series. That we have to be confident with the way we look with or without make up. In that way, we will discover the people who would accept and stay with us despite knowing everything about us. In the case of Jookyung, we'll be able to find out who those people are in the upcoming episodes. But I guess, we already know that Suho will be there for her. After all, he's the one who discovered, accepted and loved her face and personality from the very start. We got to see Seojun protecting Jookyung from her bullies too in this episode 12, so I do feel like he's there to stay by her side till the end.
In the previews of episode 13 too, which is the next episode, Joojyung's family were protecting her after finding out what was happening at her school. At this point, I kinda appreciate Jookyung's sister for having their homeroom teacher as her boyfriend. Surely, he will report everything that's happening to Jookyung in her class to her sister and that would initiate protectiveness from her family. If I look into it, this webtoon story is really well written. I like it very much!
