This episode tells us exactly what it means to be protecting our hearts by expressing what we really mean and by standing up for our own self including our dreams. Nobody would be able to protect us but ourselves. This is really such a great reminder to all of us especially in our modern society today where we compromise ourselves and our feelings to give way to other people because there's hierarchy that dictates us what to do. This happens most especially in our workplace. It's true that in order to survive this chain, we must use white lies and sugarcoat our words to come out pleasing to the ears of those we wanted to have a good impression with but we should do it moderately. In a way that, we wouldn't lose our true selves in the long run. That has become the problem with Song Ki Baek here. Why did the King say such vile things to his uncle and at the same time act so loving to the prince. His soul musings to his hidden love are in direct contradiction . The writers or translators need to do a better job.
ReplyDeleteThe writer is putting you in this position to question the kings true intention, already the king knows that the Prince life is in danger by declaring him the crown Prince. So in other to make his uncle think that he is still with him and deviate their attention from the Prince, he had to respond in such manner.
DeleteI agree; I think the King is playing to his uncle's desires and giving him what he wants to hear - he already knows he cannot trust his uncle - the whole drama is very much a Baduk game and we can only guess in the end (by the title) if there will be any weakness in the King it will be because he was "captivated" by Hee Soo
