Jeon Do Yeon Is A Badass Mother Assassin In Kill Boksoon Netflix Film

Since it's holy week and we all got time to catch up with our hobbies and stuff, I watched the newly released Netflix original movie called Kill Boksoon. This was released only this week and boy it's already no. 1 on Netflix top 10 movies in my country. That alone intrigued me to watch it but I cannot deny that seeing Jeon Do Yeon and Esom being part of this film held a huge reason for me to do so.

I just recently saw Jeon Do Yeon with a romcom K-drama series called Crash Course In Romance which is why her image to me is that of a good mother/lover/cook/citizen character up till now. After seeing Gil Boksoon that image of her to me surely changed drastically. Well, she still portrays that 'loving' mother to her daughter but her character has a huge twist. She ain't a cook here nor does food delivery to her customers, she's the total opposite 'coz she does badass work that no one could imagine she could. kkk Gil Boksoon is a contract assassin under M.K Ent which is headed by Cha Min Kyu (Sol Kyung Gu) and his sister Cha Min Hee (Esom). She was raised by her abusive father which made Boksoon immune to violence. It was only when she met assassin Cha Min Kyu that gave her an idea of what her future holds. Instead of saving her own father from Cha Min Kyu, Gil Boksoon saw it as an opportunity to kill him instead. That alights her potential as an assassin to Cha Min Kyu and that made him fall in love with her. Booksoon was right about Cha Min Kyu's weakness and it's him falling in love with her.

There are several points that I found weird in here but I guess that's 'normal' to psychopaths/assassins? I mean Esom's character Cha Min Hee has 'something' going on with her own brother. That's incest! ew. Perhaps she's that horny AF psycho woman. Also the friendship between Boksoon and the others in that restaurant, they are all gone instantly for their own survival. Like, it felt like they were really good friends from the start but it all vanished beause of Cha Min Hee's fault. Han Hee Sung (Koo Gyo Hwan) was very promising as Boksoon's lover but I think they're just fck buddies and that's all there is despite sharing problems at times with each other. I guess that's how the assassins live in their own world. No one can be trusted. I got my heart broken for Kim Young Ji's (Lee Yeon) death though. She was the little Boksoon and the next big thing/assassin but she had to die under Min Kyu's dirty hands. Clearly, he manipulated and gave her hope only to be deceived and killed in the end. Huhu I hate Min Kyu!

Also, may I just point out, it was really a sight to see a cool assassin's reaction over her daughter coming out to her. Boksoon knows her daughter did nothing wrong being for what she is but she was scared that others might hurt her daughter reason why she didn't accept everything at first. But thankfully, after all, she embraces the realness of her own daughter. Glad that they're finally open with each other and now can fully understand one another. I do believe that Boksoon's daughter watched everything like what Min Kyu said and just decided to accept everything at once especially when everything ended with her mom being an assassin. It's like life goes on now and there's no looking back! That's a great way to end it!

This film is filled with a lot of things which is the reason why it's 2 hrs long. It's great and all but I would have preferred it to be compacted a little shorter. Maybe some parts that aren't essential could be edited out and make the film ran smoothly. Anyways, overall I still enjoy the film and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to see a badass Jeon Do Yeon!! Dang! She's living her own life and I love it!
