Actor Kim Mu-yeol has surpassed 1 million followers on Instagram, fueled by the popularity of Netflix's Teach You A Lesson.
On June 17, Kim Mu Yeol's official Instagram account crossed the 1 million follower mark. Prior to the drama's June 5 premiere, he had around 200,000 followers. In just two weeks, that number grew more than fivefold as interest in both the series and the actor skyrocketed.
Teach You A Lesson follows the fictional ERPB, a government agency created to protect schools facing challenges from problematic students, teachers, and parents. The series has become a global hit, topping Netflix's Global TV Shows rankings for two consecutive weeks.
Kim Mu Yeol stars as Na Hwa Jin, an inspector from the Teacher Rights Protection Bureau, earning praise for his commanding presence and performance.
The actor has also gained attention overseas for his resemblance to former wrestler and Hollywood star John Cena. International fans have dubbed him the "Korean John Cena," and the comparison went viral after John Cena shared Kim Mu Yeol's photo on social media, prompting Netflix's official account to comment, "Hey twins."
