It's a Happy Ending for Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee in The Atypical Family Episode 12 | Finale

Gwiju went back to the past 13 years ago to save Da Hae but it was after I-na's special school event where she performed with her friends in front of everyone. It turned out that the fire in Bok mom's dream started from the school event to which Dong Hee also flew to help preventing the fire to escalate faster. The coward and good for nothing Ji Han was the one who accidentally started the fire. He was trying to pursue Dong Hee back to him again but to no luck, he got declined. I-na was then trapped at the backstage of the performance hall, she was trying to look for another exit to save herself and Hyerim. It was Da Hae who saw her first and when the fire strengthened and some structures weakened, the partition almost fell at them if it weren't for Gwiju to the rescue. In the end, Gwiju made a grand sacrifice in holding the partition for Da Hae and his daughter to escape the fire. When they got out, he was trapped and the partition was seen to have fallen to his body and that's how he went back to the past again. When Gwiju went back to the past 13 years ago, the saving and ring giving happened but that's also where he got stuck.

At the last scene of this episode, we found out that Da Hae has given birth to a boy named Bok Nuri. He is the younger brother of I-na now and the son of Gwiju. Considering that he's a Bok, he has a super power and it turned out that he can bring something/someone from the past to continue existing in the present. And that's how all this became a happy ending!!! WAAAAAH! It's so effin' cool! Thank goodness Nuri was born or else we wouldn't get this happy ending that we all deserve!

They Atypical Family is one of the best Kdramas of 2024 with only 12 episodes, tbh. You know what? This is probably why a lot of dramas lately are shortened into only 12 episodes instead of the usual 16, it's better this way where every episode is treated to be special as it's compacted with a lot of IMPORTANT events. Not like in 'some' Kdramas where there are 16 episodes but has so many fillers that aren't even essential to the flow of story. The Atypical Family gave me a new perspective that 12 episodes-kdramas aren't low budgeted projects and badly written plots anymore, they could be something huge like The Atypical Family. Ah I'm gonna miss TAF, this is really my type of drama. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to everyone who's into super powers and mystery.
