Holy shocks! Just when I told myself that I'm tired of the The Penthouse going circles again, with Joo Dan Tae and Cheon Seo Jin putting the blame on Shim Su Ryeon for keeping Logan, Logan himself appeared in a wheelchair! And suddenly able to stand up too! Lol I just knew Logan has some super powers! But kidding aside, heck, I didn't see that coming! I mean, not yet for this episode! I really thought that we're gonna be directed again with Shim Suryeon on her lowest point again. Whew! That was sick!
Anyways, so my theory here is that the moment Logan opened his eyes somewhere, Ha Eun Cheol must have done something already. But who could he used to become Logan's substitute? My guess is Alex! Logan's brother. It must be him, right? Especially when Alex suddenly appeared at the gambling place where Baek Jun Ki was at. He must have been contacted by Ha Eun Cheol and his family must have been acting all along that they took the bait of Joo Dan Tae. Alex suddenly appeared out of nowhere, so it might have been that! All these are just a hunch though! I could be wrong.
As for Seo Jin's reason why she's so obsessed with winning against Shim Su Ryeon, we got a flashback from season 1. It was from the first episode were she felt inferior towards Shim Su Ryeon. Viewers might think that her reason was too shallow to commence revenge against her, but if you actually know Seo Jin's nature then you will get where she's coming from! It's timely that I created this post What Drives The Penthouse Characters To Do Their Wicked Actions? | Character Descriptions because it will remind us what each characters' reason for acting the way the do! I recommend everyone to read it!
For Seok Kyung, I know I said I hated her previously and I don't care about her anymore, but somehow with this episode we got to see that there's still hope for her to change. Or I must be too soft? lol Still, she did not beg for her mother to do what Joo Dan Tae wanted, instead she insisted the opposite. She ran away too, in order to correct everything herself. That was really a character development for her, especially when she's starting to realize and point out what she did wrong in the past. To be able to see what is wrong, that is the cue that there is hope for changes. And by the fact that she wanted to correct her mistakes herself, that's really something for Seok Kyung! Ah, now I'm interested again on her character!
Anyways, overall, this episode 8 is really good. So many character developments becoming evident! Bae Ro Na, Seok Hoon, Min Hyuk, Jenny, Kang Ma Ri, now Seok Kyung and even Kyu Jin's wife!! Wow! Kang Ma Ri showed her that she shouldn't become a slave to her cheating husband, and that's how she's gaining a grip for her own life! Yep, girl power!
