Hwang Hee Tae (LeeDo Hyun) and Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si) reunited miraculously in Youth of May episode aired June 7.
Myung Hee fell into sadness while Hwang Hee Tae was confined by his father Hwang Ki Nam (Oh Man Seok) at their house.
Hee Tae, who was able to escape the house with the help of his step mother Song Hae Ryung (Shim Yi Young), rush over to the hospital where Myung Hee was. Myung Hee saw Hee Tae was covered in injury yet she was still embraced in his arms. Hee Tae embraced Myung Hee tighter when the girl started bawling.
When Myung Hee's father Kim Hyun Chul (Kim Won Hae) found out about Hee Tae's return, he handed over his passbook to him saying "This is the money that I saved up to send Myung Hee to university. It may not be enough but it's not that it's not enough to start living in other areas, right?"
Hee Tae refuses and said "You should handover this to Myung Hee personally." But Hyun Chul insisted and gave his consent to their relationship. "You should hold it. Myung Hee would not accept it from me. After all, both of you will use it together."
Also, Hyun Chul held Hee Tae's hand tightly together with the pocket watch he gave him and conveyed "Myung Hee struggled a lot because of me but she's still a precious child. Live and cherish each other."
Then later, Hee Tae and Myung Hee spent the night at the church before setting out on a journey together away frpm Gwangju. After she gave Hee Tae new bandages, Myung Hee told him that she'll become his family from now on and asked him to get married.
