BIGBANG Scandals

Bigbang who debuted year 2006, is probably considered as one of the most influential kpop idol group as they helped spread the kpop wave around the globe. And all throughout their career, several scandals also surrounded the members or the group in general. Let me list down here a few:

Plagiarism claims was never new to any musician. In 2007, the group released their first hit single Lies which later been accused to plagiarize Free TEMPO's Sky High. This scandal then was shut down as YG reached out to Free TEMPO and denying there was plagiarism involved. 

Same thing happened to G-Dragon's heartbreaker and Flor-Rida's Right Round in 2009. 

These are few of plagiarism accusations surrounding the group. Now let us go to each member's extreme scandals. I'll just list here their huge scandals/controversies that changed the outlook of people to them negatively.

1. Daesung

In May 2011, Daesung got involved in an accident wherein he struck a motorcyclist which was already on the ground due to his first accident. But since Daesung was driving an 80km/h on a 60km/h zone, he dragged the man on the street in approximately 22m resulting to the man's death. Although it was reported that Daesung there was no alcohol substance present in his system by that time.

Daesung was called a murderer by the death of the motorcyclist but after investigation, all charges were dropped by Seoul Prosecution Office.

2. G-Dragon

After Daesung's controversy, on the same year, G-Dragon was charged for smoking marijuana. G-Dragon explained in an episode of Healing Camp that he did smoke marijuana in a party. But did not know it was the cigarette's content that was given to him by a stranger/fan in Japan. He threw it away after he became suspicious of the cigarette. This is the reason why his urine was tested negative at first but his hair has a minimal detection of marijuana.
Due to the reason that it was G-dragon's first criminal case and considering the minimal amount of marijuana found in his hair, all the charges were dropped.

Fast forward to 2018 where he started his military duties, controversy still surrounded him. This is due to his long leave for being in and out of a hospital. Rumor has been circulating also that the high profile celebrity is receiving special treatments inside the military.

In 2019, he failed to be promoted into a corporal rank and stays as a private first class (one of the lowest rank in the military). It was said though that the usual promotion is being achieved usually by any enlisted man in a span of 10 months.

3. T.O.P

In 2017, the Kpop world was shaken by the news that T.O.P. was sentenced to 2 years probation (10 months in jail if violated) and compensation due to being positive in smoking marijuana. It was during his military service as well. It was reported that the investigation started with a trainee named Han Seo Hee, and that the police learned that she smoked marijuana with TOP in his house. He admitted to four charges of marijuana.

4. Seungri

And now we're down with Seungri. We all know how twisted and huge this scandal is. Their South Korean president was aware of it and I assume the entire world as well. Seriously one of the biggest scandal that hit South Korea in general.

It all started when there was an assault reported at Seungri's Burning Sun nightclub. A certain Kim Sang-kyo tried to save a woman from a sexual harrassment but was assaulted by the staff. Further investigation has lead to the involvement of many korean idols/entertainers to which I will no longer mention here. Seungri on the other hand was involved to different crime allegations like tax evasions, prostitution, illegal sex videos, gambling and probably more. Considering the severity of these crimes, I can only hope for severe punishment to him if proven guilty after the investigations. And of course that applies for all the suspects involved.

Retiring from the industry can never resolve nor salvage him from his wrong doings. He deserved more than that in my opinion.

Oh in case you don't know, this isn't the only scandal Seungri got involved with. Because ever since 2012, this guy was out there spreading shit everywhere.

So that concludes the list! And our good boy Taeyang is the real role model/idol for all. I wish him all the good things in life. He deserved to become happy with his wife. So let's leave them out in this kind of entry.
